Percussion can be therapeutic. You can loose yourself in it; clear your mind of everything but the rhythm. You may not understand until you drum along with someone else and are in an environment or setting that you are fully comfortable in.

I don't know anything about african pigmies, but check out this Balinese Monkey chant from the movie Baraka. It looks like it would be so intense to be a part of that.

ween is an aquired taste, for sure. and i can see how ketamine can get you in the mood, lol. the venue is pretty small, website states a 4,000 person capacity. brand new though, ween will be its inaugural show actually. should be tons of fun.
