Kratom apparently has a history of treating diabetes! * 1

Just found this out today. There has only been 1 study showing this but apparently kratom has been used to help with Diabetes in Asia for a long time.

From the bit of info I could find it seems kratom helps restore natural insulin functions, I saw some anecdotal claims that kratom helps blood sugar levels more then some modern diabetes treatments. It also can be an appetite suppressant so it can help people eat less which also helps in some cases. People also use it as a workout supplement to get more exercise done.

Thoughts? Seems like yet another reason many people would really want it illegal...

I don't get what people find funny about diabetes... It's an epidemic right now.

We might as well start laughing at all the opiate addicts that have had their lives ruined thanks to greedy pill pushing companies. Or people with cancer.

theres been a bunch of recent studies indicating that fasting repairs the broken insulin cells in the pancreas, essentially curing type 2 diabetus. i also know a dude in real life who had type 2... a change in his life style and hes no longer diabetic..

its been pushed for a long time that type 2 is a permanent disease but we've been wrong about so much medical understanding, type 2 is probably repairable

type 1 on the other hand is genetic immune problem where the immune system kills the insulin cells in the pancreas

It's the word, diabeetus. It's like those people who say "aluninum" or "cinnanum" or "toelit" expect you imagine some southern-bred triple neck saying it. Illnesses aren't funny. People are funny.

I was looking around too and some people on the reddit kratom sub claim to have slowly replaced their prescribed diabetes meds with kratom and feel much better.

One person said while taking kratom and his meds he actually had too low blood sugar levels which is why he stopped taking the meds.

Who knows if it's just a fluke or what though, would be interesting to see more research but I doubt anyone will bother funding it for a few more decades at least :sad:
