Nebrodensis, the white elf
    #24427493 -

I've had a few years of playing with this species, which by the way is the most abalone like mushroom of all the ones I've grown.
I'm getting some monster mushrooms, just harvested a 460gm shroom, but last year I had bigger specimens.
They love it cold-frost and snow is good, and lots of limestone.
Couple of photos on my FB site, I'll upload some here later.

Looks great. Do you have any more pictures? Only a few successfully grew Nebrodensis and we can definitely use more pictures.
Can you maybe compare the taste to king oyster?

Very nice, I'm waiting for some Clitocybe geotropa's (not rare) to show themselves.

What is the genetics source and growing parameters / yields like ?  I ran the shit out of it but it never fruited.  Assuming P. ferulae is the same...

The specimen that Quadman shared with me pinned on the plate.  Not that that means anything but it is encouraging...

Colorado, you been holding out on me. Didn't know you got it to pin on a plate. Still think it will be to warm . I'm fruiting inside so I'm averaging in the 70's. Maybe about Oct-Nov.

I never thought anything of it...I had plated it up right when you gave it to me and after a couple transfers got abandoned as I went on to other projects...found them pinned at the perimeter of the plates while throwing out old stuff.

Heaps of pics, internet not great, troubling uploading...I'm writing a blog that'll have heaps, but for now, very different to Kings, but some similarities. Twice as dense, much firmer texture, all white, different flavour. Like Kings, they seem to prefer composted substrates, although they grow on anything other oysters do. They like hydrated lime and/or burnt shellgrit, hard to over do it!

:mushroom: My trade list :mushroom:
Looking for strong terrestrial fruiters for an outdoor beds experiment:
Agaricus Bitorquis, Agaricus Augustus, Agaricus blazei/subrufescens, Stropharia Rugoso-annulata, Clitocybe Nuda (blewits), and any species or other genus that you think work outdoors.
Also, any commercially viable Pleurotus, cold or hot strains.
Thanks for the Q&A, trades, and all the posters & teachers that have come before us  :skol:

Very beautiful! If fruiting is consistent it may be good candidate for commercial production. I know some people grow it with automatic bottle system.

It only needs a few weeks of cold temps to fruit after letting the blocks stand for around 1.5 months after they are nice and solid. If you want more mushrooms you need to supplement it well. This is ferulae on straw cased with peat/oystershel flour/sand. I started them in November I think and they fruit in January. Those are the Months I get cold snaps here in East San Diego County.

If I remember correctly the spawn I used was rice hull spawn with around 40%rice bran(the horse stuff with flax oil in it) as well as a little oyster shell flour. I could be wrong though...it has been a while.

This is the Mycelia strain M 2650
