LOL, yeah. I'll start by telling you just how happy I am to be on the opposite side of the world from that sinking fucking ship that I spent the last 20 years living in.

Fucking sad, for the UK had it great once upon a time, but the very culture and legacy of that once great land has disappeared up its own arse.

Your turn.

What the fuck do you know of British culture. You worked in the city FFS, and, I don't blame you for wanting to get the fuck out of it. But please, don't tar the entire UK with that same sickly brush.

While Great Britain was busy being "great" and, the "largest empire the world had ever known" and all that BS, the indiginous working class were living in utter poverty. Look up some u-tubes of the Glasgow slum clearances for reference. These was the living standards of the majority of the British working poor. So poor, that when they were called upon to fight in the interests of the elite(WW1-WW2)the malnourished, bandy legged and diseased poor fuckers were of no use, even as cannon fodder.

Having said that. Good luck to any of you that leave the UK for a life in the far flung  colonies.

Sure is. My earliest years were in east croydon, S.London from '61.
My older brother riding pillion>

We had no hot water on tap or inside toilet, our 'bathtub' was hung on the wall in the garden. In the winter our mum would bring the tub inside and heat a kettle of water to take the chill off the cold water drawn from the tap.

The 'rag'n'bone man' coalman, and grocer, would come by horse and cart. 60's London

As you can see from the photo, of the houses opposite, although that was the 'good side' of the road, we lived in luxury compared to many in the country.

What would be a good place/town/area for a first visit?

Highlands. Specifically Isle of Skye. That place will blow your mind.

Pain is temporary. It may last for a minute or an hour or a day or even a year but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it will last forever.

Someone should jump on this idea I just figuratively pulled out of my ass. The next million dollar idea involves a new European Cryptocurrency called:  BritCoins... british bitcoins.
