I believe to ban a whole breed of dog is insanely racist well breedist but racist sounds better here pitbulls are banned but to me saying all pitbulls are bad is like saying all black people are criminals its just not factual yes there are bad dogs but 99% of the time its the owners fault so why ban the whole breed just incase... We don't just lock black people up cuz he might grow up to be a thief we don't just put glasses on someone cuz there asain.. So why ban a breed just cuz its a pitbull

I totally disagree that it's just the owners that cause the massively disproportionate bite number. 
Pitbulls have an abnormal locking jaw. They also have the chance of mauling even in the care of kind owners. And yes they are generally sweet dogs but it doesn't change this fact. There are many dog breeds where that isn't ever going to happen.
It's like with cats, you can own a perfectly nice cat why the fuck does anyone need an Ocelot? Well the answer is you don't.
However I just said a bunch of shit when I totally agree with you. They shouldn't be banned.

I dont beleive they have any higher chance of biting than any other breed when it comes to people with a proper upbringing they were however bred for fighting dogs and it takes a good owner to make em friendly with other dogs + animals .note that I said 99% of the time its owners fault not all the time you dovget the odd bad dog but pitbulls also attract that kind of owner due to the look of them. In Britain 60+ yrs ago the poodle was going to be banned as it was supposed vicious
The so called lock jaw is just sheer determination there's no actual medical thing that locks the dogs jaw

That makes me sad pits are awesome! My fatbutt is a big baby. Pits are a great omni breed from gaurds,hunters an service dogs ,just 1 of the best working dogs cause of theyre built an mentality .

Dogs are like ppl you raise em right theyre sweet its a gene thats responsible for the attack reflex or a mental illness just like in ppl.

Pit bulls being banned is understandable cus of the whole lock jaw thing and cus of the kind of irresponsible ghetto crowd the breed attracts. But huskies and malamutes being banned is ridiculous! I'm trying to move but can't find a place because of my "wolf dog".

67% of dog attacks are by pitbulls, and yet they only make up 5% of the total dog population, that's a gigantically disproportional statistic. I'm honestly perplexed as to why they're allowed to continue to breed at this point.

Did you know that the reason pitbulls exist is because they were selectively bred for the purpose of dogfighting? Their aggression is genetically predisposed.

It's not like they look particularly cute or something, they're kinda ugly little sons of bitches too. So what's the point of them?

You never hear of a golden retreiver brutally attacking someone for no reason.


Just quit breeding pitbulls.

Google it, IDK, I haven't watched the life of every pitbull throughout the world so I obviously can't fact check it but that's the statistic that seems to get thrown around and it seems about right. Only time I've ever been chased by dogs was by pitbulls, only time I ever hear of people getting attacked by dogs was by pitbulls.

Some dog breeds are simply less aggressive than others. Like I said, the entire reason pitbulls exist is because they were specifically bred for the purpose of dog-fighting, they were built to be aggressive animals.


I used to have this German Shepard when I lived with my parents. We treated him right, we never trained him to be aggressive and we shamed him whenever he was, and yet he continued to viciously attack random people every once in a while. It was heavily fucked up, my mom's a dipshit for insisting that he stay alive long after he should have been put down. Some dog breeds are simply more assholes than others.

Whenever I hear of a pitbull being a big teddy bear, it's usually a female. The fact is the vast majority of male pitbulls, male german shepards, male rotweilers, are dangerous creatures and in a society that wants to promote peaceful existence I simply see no point in allowing these aggressive breeds of animals to exist when there's many other breeds of dogs with extremely negligible instances of aggression.

Some dogs need more attention

I Have a golden doodle and he gets agressive.  He was somewhat attacked 3 times.  Now he goes after every damn dog he does not know.

My sister had a rescue dog that was on psyche meds.  She had to out that one down and another rescue for agression towards people.

Dog psycology is basic. Even the smallest rat dogs get agressive.  They usually simply don't have the build to be more than an annoyance.

The nicest dogs I've known were all pit bulls.  Very playful and sweet dogs. 



I've personally known more people bit by dalmations and German shepherds than pitbulls. 



It comes down to the owner and the environment they were raised in.    They are naturally protective of their owners sure, but that's not a bad thing.     


Saying to stop breeding them is ignorant and clearly shows a lack of personal experiences with pitbulls and relying on media to form your opinion.

What I was getting at is that traits of aggressiveness are not breed specific. There is pitbulls without aggression issues, so trying to eliminate them completely is inhumane and will not solve any problems.

Should vicious, dangerous dogs be put downif they cant be rehabilitated? Most certainly. But eliminating a whole breed because some of them have aggressive traits is irresponsible and isnt going to solve shit.

It is like slme people that blame breeders.

I think it's more people breeding for the wrong purpose and or accidents.

You can buy all your clothes from resale shops.  It doesn't stop new clothes being made.
