Putin exposing chemical attack in Syria as a FALSE FLAG OPERATION TO BLAME ASSAD AND START WAR * 1
    #24234447 -

So many top Russian officials as well as Putin himself is publicly asking for a UN investigation because he and others ( and anyone that can use rationale and logic in this day of misinfo and disinfo) suspect this chemical attack to be a false flag operation in order to put blame on Assad when he previously held all leverage in this situation.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.rt.com/document/58ecd05bc46188e3218b466e/amp

Prior to this "attack" Assad had all leverage in his corner and this supposed attack makes zero logical sense when you account for how much progress and leverage he previously held.

This supposed chemical attack only benefits western nations at a time when they were extreme desperate for a change in public sentiment

--------------------
Enlils true purpose is to get us off topic and to cast enough logical doubts so that outsiders viewing this would be more likely to side with his fake opinions rather than our or sometimes controlled opppsotions opinions.

You see if you are too skilled at not falling for their traps and stating logically sound debunks then other accounts who purposefully agree with 90% of the truth join in and get the entire topic off the main points.

It's their 1960s version of damage control and diversion but man it's painfully obvious in 2017

Agreed.  There simply isn't a reason I can think of why Assad would launch a chemical attack, but there is a clear reason the US would want a false flag operation - to prevent Assad from retaining power, who now probably dislikes the US more than ever.

Has Assad denied the attacks himself? Im sure he probably has but I haven't seen it anywhere

Assad has used chemical weapons before.  Did you see a reason then?

The man has Russia in his corner.  He thinks he's untouchable.

Besides, what other explanation is there?  ISIS doesn't have chemical missiles to launch on themselves.  The bullshit story about a missile hitting a chemical cache is fine until one realizes that the 4th missile didn't explode but just left a white cloud that killed people.

What are the odds that Assad sent a dud missile that happened to hit a chemical weapons cache?

Did he?  Has that evidence ever been presented to the public?

Assad: U.S. does not have "a single shred of evidence" of chemical weapons attack

Even if he did, would there be any reason to do it again?

Enlil said:

Did anyone claim that's what happened?

How does one realize this?  By the account of a single witness who is anti-Assad?

No one's claiming that.  What are the odds he sent a real missile that happened to hit a chemical weapons cache?

A real missile that didn't explode?  That's what the witness claims.  What evidence do we have to counter that?

An investigation would make it clear, but only Russia wants an investigation.  What do you think of that?

Putin: Russia wants UN to investigate Syrian chemical attack

Of course he wants an investigation.  He backed Assad, and now he's either got to justify that or abandon it.  On top of that, Putin was responsible for making sure that Assad had no chemical weapons.  He has to either admit that he failed at that or demand an investigation.

The odds are pretty good that a missle could be missing or have a dud warhead.
Especially if they are surplus old items.

Agreed.  And why wouldn't the US response be "sure, let's investigate"?

Some reasons that Assad might have had for a chemical attack:
Maybe he's a crazy asshole and believes himself immune to serious reprisal
Maybe Putin told him to do it in order to try to force the U.S. into a position of public impotence.
Maybe war-weariness or the economic drain associated with prolonged warfare had Assad feeling as though he had to force a decision soon by whatever means necessary.  Chemical weapons aren't really that much more effective than conventional ones for this purpose except insofar as they are terrifying to civilians.  perhaps it was a test run on an attempt to cow the civilian support for the rebels.

i'll think about it

lots of reasons.  not necessarily good ones though.
off the top of my head:
as a test of the Russian response to a limited strike
as a show of force to North Korea against a target who can't really strike back
to maintain an aura of unpredictability around Trump with regard to a number of nations
as an assertion of general supremacy in the region
to use up some warheads that were gonna expire soon
as a distraction from some other important issue that the powers that be would prefer we not pay attention to.

probably others.  i'll think about it

Enlil, no offense,  but would it matter? Saying nothing about the U.N. is probably the best current U.S. strategy. If push comes to shove, we probably have to agree on a U.N. investigation or we start looking very suspicious. But as time goes on a U.N. investigation is no more likely to reach real conclusions than our FBI investigations. It may not be possible to get the truth on Syria. A American veto of the U.N. is out of the question.

And historically on this forum and especially among lefties, I have been one of the strongest proponents of 'Putin is an evil guy, to be feared', but he's not always wrong.

It's still a "who knows what happened" situations. Issues of motivations why somebody would or wouldn't do something, or actions of the past are suggestive but not sufficient.

Of course Putin isn't always wrong.  Still, the theory that the rebels had sarin gas lying around isn't very credible.  Where did they get viable sarin from?  They certainly aren't manufacturing it.  And if they had it, why haven't they used it?

An investigation absolutely will get to the bottom of it, assuming Assad lets one happen.  He wasn't too cooperative with the investigation in 2013, though, so I don't suspect he will be this time.  Still, it won't be hard to identify a chemical warhead, if one was dropped.

I have nearly no knowledge of the hard sciences. A read a recent article that says sarin can be made in a day if you have the ingredients and apparatus but they didn't say anything about how hard they are to obtain. My only thought was that's about a hundred thousand times easier than making and getting away with making nukes.

I have no allusions about Assad, but really no allusions about us either.

Just as a topic for speculation and argument what do you and the others think about the future of ISIS in Syria if Assad is in vs. out?

its gonna be a shit show at this point either way probably.

With Assad, we can expect brutal reprisals against any remaining opposition.
Without Assad, we can expect brutal reprisals against any remaining opposition.

Of course, the war will have to conclude for either scenario to play out.

How much in such an insult.  This just to move to narrative for collusion.  In the a real ebarrassement this nonsense'

Maybe the democrats had been there insults for a year or more, for nothing.  Maybe they start to give up the hard, hot cock about evidence that rather do not much but specualting and speculation by the media.  Just people believe they heard on he medis people should feel insult.
