I'm sick and it hurts

I thought I was just sick with the flu, but now I'm wondering if I have strep throat.  My throat feels like its on fire.  I want to rip it out it hurts so bad.  Also, I've had a consistant fever. 

Whats the best thing to alleviate throat pain???  I've been taking robotussin but it hasn't been working.  :frown:

get some lemon green tea with lots of honey. When I had the flu and strep throat it really helped. If your fever get's too high for a long time ( like 103/104 F for over 8 hours ) get yourself into a cold bath. If I would have known this I could have avoided a 12 hour stay at the hospital getting dunked in a ice cold bath hooked up to an IV.

this stuff really is the best. you spray it in your mouth, and it numbs your throat. it has phenol and menthol in it.

well yea, opiates are always the best (and most fun :smile: )option for pain. but you cant just get them at the corner drug store :wink:

Get in some freezing cold water for an hour, then jump into a hot shower and repeat like 20 times :evil:
Just kidding, DONT do that.  Dont you have some good painkillers around the house?  Alot of tea, mainly green tea is good, some vitamin C pills, fruit containing vitamin C, fishermans friend or altoids(whatever refreshing candy you can find)... and opium would do the trick!

PS.  you can work up your imune system by putting yourself in danger of catching a cold more often, in the long run you'll get alot more immune against colds and fevers and all types of stuff.

I know this is a bit late..........take 2 motrins.........that should alleviate the fever and throat pain. See a doctor

Thanks everyone...if I'm not better by the weekend I'll have to go see a doctor.  And I found some coughdrops that numb your throat when you suck them.  (and your mouth) So I'm doing a tad bit better.  :smile:
