Re: Gourmet/Medicinal Mushroom Trade [Re: Forrester]

Something interesting happened that shook my idea of mycelium degeneration over time. I had thought that I lost my wild maitake and lions mane isolates, because they were in air tight mason jar slants, with no GE, for over a year. I isolated them anyhow, just to see if anything came from it and boom! They both came back stronger than ever, with the Lions mane colonizing a 1L jar of rye in less than a week and is now fruiting in vitro. Amazing! I suppose mycelium is extremely resilient, but I didn't think to the extent where mycelium can enter a stasis mode and survive a vacuum. Just wanted to let you know that you were correct Forrester

Hey, good to hear!  I've found that mycelium, a lot of it anyway, is FAR more resilient that many of us have been taught.  I may try to revive a reishi culture that's been in a sealed jar for 2-3 years now, just to see.  Should be interesting!

Have some medicinal mushrooms and want to get the most out of them?  Try this double extraction method.

For sure guys, my ass was clenched, lol. It actually seems more vigorous for some reason, like it's got a new lease on life or something.
I am a happy man
