Actually CEOs are often picked for top government roles. Robert Mcnamara left his position as CEO of ford when it was one of the largest companies in the world to join the Kennedy administration as Secretary of defense.

Donald rumsfeld, Dick Cheney also come from CEO backgrounds. Alan greenspan too I think. It's about macro management and influence, which are key skills for government. Managing a corporation is not that different from managing a nation I would say.

Going to the white house for a CEO is like going to San Quentin for drug Lords.  They go in and make a heap of connections that gain them influence and status, that they can capitalise on at a later stage. It's kind of like the "black house" ironically

Trump is running it like a business but let's hope he doesn't run it into bankruptcy, four times, as his track record shows.
