High powered rifles.

I grew up shooting guns. Killing animals with them. 1500lb moose was the biggest. From 200 yards out. I love the crack of a high powered rifle.
I did briefly consider joining the army to be a sniper. But I don't really want to kill people. I do love shooting them though. My dad and my neighbors dad taught me to shoot with all sorts of high powered. Rifles.
I breathe fully out that is making my hair stand on end thinking about it. Crack. I don't know how to explain how to explain that sound. Well spell it to out. Splits air and kills what you need it to. Good shit.

You and I would be best pals bro. I just picked up a vintage 30-30 saddle short barrel. I also grew up shooting those amazing weapons. I feel safer knowing me and mine can not only provide meat, but also hold down the fort. What's your favorite? Mine is my uncles 50 cal, so much power and so accurate. I hope to own one soon. Dick

I don't shoot guns much anymore. Which is disappointing. My friends dad had multiple cabinets full of basically every gun you could have. My dad had a few. I remember my friend was mobbing by my house on his dirt bike and I nailed him 100 yds out with my pellet gun.
Looked up at my deck and flipped me off.
Wait wait wait now! It's all about waiting. I did buy a 22 in Montana 10 round clip. Missed the first shot. Saw how it was sighted. Nailed all 9 bullets at multiple targets. Man i miss proper high powered rifles that are sighted.

He was like oh OK you can obviously shoot. My buddies friend. He brought his m16. Now we're talking. I haven't had that much fun in quite some time. Absolutely destroyed the targets I'd already punched little holes in.
Can I shoot it. Ya man. Bullets are expensive though that's annoying so just fucking around costs a bit. Think the rounds I shot off were a 20$ bill.

man you want to talk about fun with rifles?
try shooting a pumpking full of tannerite from approx 600 yards with a .338 lapua now that is good times.
8mm mauser is another great round, not as acuarate as the lapua but will still def let you know you pulled the trigger on it.

Biggest rifles I've shot so far is an M1 Garand and an M1903 and I want both. I've mostly only shot handguns so when I got to try out those rifles I got quite the shock . I liked the M1 more, it seemed to fit my shoulder better. The 1903 had a very narrow and sharp butt and shooting it left a perfectly matched bruise. Probably partly my technique since my lack of experience with them but I was already aware of holding it incorrectly would hurt and was doing my best to make sure I was holding it correct. I don't really care though, was totally worth it and I'd shoot it every opportunity I got.

I take my AR15 and AK47 out for a day sometimes, along with my 20ga shotty and glock 19.
Those are all fun to shoot. My friends have fun shooting the 20ga cause the kick is way less than a 12 but still shreds through shit.
I want to build an SBR, like an AR47. Maybe just an SBR version of my AR15. I just think they look sick and they are quite a bit smaller for compact traveling.

Mosin nagant M44, 7.62x54 with folding bayonet is $100 at Big 5. I put a Monte Carlo stock with rubber buttpad on it and it stopped bruising me up so much. What a blast... they're especially fun at dusk.

Beats me, but I'm not about to start complaining!
I guess because they are old military surplus. 44 was the year they began production! Just check to see the parts match, the barrel was taken care of and the crown looks good.

I love my Rem 700BDL 7mm mag....bought it used 35 yrs. ago and it still shoots hella accurate. Once knocked a running whitetail buck off his feet at 380 yards....put the crosshairs on his nose and got him through the lungs. lol...I've missed much easier shots though.

Yep. I used to be a crack shot because I'd put myself in a meditative state.
I love the focus and calm and technique requred to be good in shooting. I've played a variety of sports and it is certainly no different. No you don't need to be terribly athletic but the best shooters are fit. When your body is happy your hands shake less, when you are strong you can hold a rifle longer without wavering, if your lungs annd heart are healthy then you have better breathing control (and that also goes into steadiness)
I love it and I miss it. But between the carpal tunnel and an old shoulder injury I dunno how well I could handle a mid powered rifle now. I wouldn't even try with a high powered rifle or shotgun.
My gf is trying to convince me to find a place that rents recoil controlled (I don't remember the specific name) rifles. I do feel I need a firearm when I move on my own, for nothing more than self assurance, so maybe I'll indulge her for her bday in February.

I also absolutely LOVE shooting high powered rifles. The biggest most "high powered" rifle I've shot personally was a M4 with a 5.56 x 45mm round. It's the most fun I've ever had shooting guns (I shoot pistols a lot). With that M-4 I punched a hole in a solid piece of steel right through the bullseye at 100 yards. It was also my first shot and it was essentially point and shoot as far as the scope. The recoil was amazingly low . I had been shooting a .22 standard hunting rifle before that and the M4 has less kick. After I got a bullseye I tried to shooot a clay lodge on we didn't break that was about 20-30 yards behind the steel target. I shot it in half and then shot one of the half into 4ths. So much power and gratification from that.

as far as recoil controlled firearms, there are plenty of things out there that will help out.. muzzle brakes, limb savers etc. you would be surprised how technology can help out in that aspect.
