ok, the fatasses seem to be too much water, usually it happens if you place the cake directly on top of the perlite, so you might wanna put them on a lid if you haven't already. It could also be because you weren't able to fan it. It really isn't a big deal though, cuz once you dry it, it becomes real skinny. As for the rotten shrooms, don't eat them. They could be caused by cobweb mold. Usually it takes a while for the mold to actually destroy the shroom because it attacks from the outside and rots in. If you see fluffy grey stuff , spry it with h2o2/water and that should take care of it withought harming the cakes. Don't trow the cake out though, cobweb mold is usually quite harmless(unless it has rotted your shrooms)------------------ " If we have the right fulcrum point, we can move the world." -Archimedes

thats a good question about the fat stems. i have no clue, im not a mycologist. it happened to (my friend) though, it isnt a bad thing. dont eat slimy black anything, including mushrooms. you left them in there for too long and they're rotten. apologize to them and send them back to the earth. remember to pick them when the veil is just about to open.peace ADK ------------------ The smallest fact is a window through which the infinite may be seen. -AH

Perlite will give you plenty of humidity on its own, you don't need the aquarium bubbler. If the shrooms that you cut open are black and slimy on the inside, then they are rotten. If the caps have just turned a darker brown, then they have stopped growing, but are still good to pick.violetdewdrop, do you know this about cobweb mold for a fact, or are you trying to interpret things that other people have said? Your comments here seem a little sketchy to me. ------------------ see me here: www.geocities.com/vorpal_rd/justapic.html
