If it's always been buttered for you, how would you know? Perhaps you mean to say that you know which side it's buttered on. Which side is obvious enough, but the way in which the knife slides on the toast is a delicate matter.

Hey, fair enough man. You will be among the minority that finishes college with no motivation to do so. An achievement in and of itself.

There is a lot to do out there, and you can survive fine without blowing through your parents savings. I hope psychology is something you want to get in because you want to be a psychologist, not because you're just interested in psychology. Many people start as psych majors, and change eventually. There's too many of them anyway, psychology is too popular with 1st year students.

You want to be on ritalin for 6 years, you'll probably be on it for longer if you keep it up that long. You shouldn't need ritalin for your first few years of college if you were able to get through high school without it. It's not as if classes get more difficult when you enter college. Feel out your first semester before seeking it, there will be resources at your college that can help you get it if you actually have ADD, which they'll test you for as well.

yeah, i'm just going with the flow sort of, maybe i'll go to community college or something, i'm sorta burnt out on school but I always get like that in the middle of the year. Summer freshens me right up though, i even sometimes get bored in summer and want to do school.

Going to college just feels like the productive/right thing to do, and my parents are pushing me to do so. Obviously thought i'll never know whats good for me/the "right" thing to do. We shall see.

I'll surely make some posts about college and shit in the future

Some notes for you, OP. Ritalin works, and well at that. there are better and longer lasting versions on the market, like Concerta which is a 12 hour medicine. methylphenidate is also fairly safe and if you use it in a therapeutic rage dose wise. there are few downsides if you are healthy, not that downsides don't exist. i was prescibed for a long long time and it helped tremendously. I see a lot of people here that are commenting negatively on it, many seem ill-informed or have little experience with it. my experience with it has been completely different, as i can see it works for you as well.

microdosing lsd all the time to study is ill advised, and a pretty silly idea. for one, you don't know how much is on your blotter in many cases unless it came from a lab, and even then it could still be a mystery. this is especially the case for stuff straight from the street. It also has a rapid tolerance curve, and hard to continue taking for long. lsd may work by it's agonistic effects on the norepinephrine pathways, which help to enhance memory for one. this is one of the reasons that methylphenidate is thought to work as well, except it achieves this effect by increasing levels of norepinephrine among other things.

if you are on your parents' insurance, theirs should cover it, if you are in the states - up until the age of 26 i believe or so. look around for decent psychiatrist doctors in your area and make an appointment. if you really are having issues studying or paying attention, tell them.

just a note here, i was on it for a very long time and quit cold turkey. i had problems staying awake for a while, but that went away. if he does have a problem with add/adhd, then he will probably be taking the meds for a long time anyway.


OP, i forgot to mention - one of the best things you can do is run and excercise as it helps increase levels of endorphins that help enhance memory, as well as BDNF.
