I ate one large Amanita muscaria var. guessowii cap the other night, not for divination purposes or anything, it's a wonderful edible, and had collected some with some blewits, honey mushrooms, marasmius oreades, and chicken of the woods the other day.


I sat down at the computer after that, I fell into a trance soon where I couldn't keep my eyes open and felt almost like an opiate high, I saw an alien face in my minds eye along with images of mushrooms everywhere.


Very muscaria feeling, which I find nice.

My dreams for the next few days were all about mushrooms, and they were incredibly vivid too.


People probably see me be contradictory in my stance on Amanita mushrooms, I will advise people newer to mushrooms NOT to eat them, but I consume them a lot because I have been doing this for a while and am not worried about doing so.  But I think if you're newer to mushrooms, then you should check with trusted identifiers here, and then check two other sites to come to a good conclusion.  You could just take the trusted identifiers word, but I think you should use other sources too, this way you learn something about this magical, yet deadly genus, and you might be able to teach another about what you have learned, and spread proper information rather than all the misinformation which is so prevalent in the world of sacramental fungi.

I recommend mushroomsexpert.com and THE best Amanita site amanitaceae.org, by using three sources you can be sure you're not going to make a mistake and cause yourself or another harm, and might learn a bit about the genus.

It's good to use several sources to come to a conclusion with whatever it is you are trying to figure out, don't just say "hey this one guys pic looks like what I found, fuck it" then eat something, that would be stupid, but people do it all the time.
