Does anybody use sketchup?

Im trying to design something and everytime I stick these components together they end up welding to eachother. Is there any way to not to do this? I've already watched hours of videos and none of them ever mentioned this being a problem.

Its googles version of autoCAD, and Im working on furniture/art pieces. The whole purpose of moving form paper to digital was so I wouldnt waste as much time drawing but this is pointless if I cant explode the components after I've drafted it.

Is it critical that u have an exploded view?

Maybe Google Sketchup doesnt have that option :shrug:

Extremely critical, and I know its possible because Ive seen plenty of videos of people doing it. I just cant figure out what step Im missing.

I used it many times before for simple projects but never had issues even if I don't know shit bout 3d drawing

Have u searched the internet for a Sketchup manual or tutorial on how to use the Exploded View option?

Thats what i would try first.

I dont know, I draft them and assemble them then when I go to move them the planes have welded and it fucks everything. Hella annoying thing to happen.

And Im positive this is some total noob shit Im overlooking.

Drafting is not a simple thing to do. People do lots of schooling just on how to draft. Dont beat yourself up on it, sounds like u need to learn the program more.
