I still stand by the premise involved below.

They tossed out Curry because he makes the game much harder to fix for the officials. The refs don't want someone on the court who can drain 3s from anywhere consistently. He could mess up their work and end up winning the game for real.

There haven't been enough finals game 7s to really say the NBA is in on fixing them to extend them further, especially considering MJ never played a game 7 in the Finals, and prior to that the NBA's golden child was 1-9 in the postseason. You'd think when there was less scrutiny from social media and replays from a million angles in HD for everyone to analyze afterward that the NBA would've fixed it more for their superstars. Hmmm
I think the refs are human and make mistakes, sometimes they are influenced by game situations like home crowd or high-pressure moments which isn't necessarily fair but I don't think they're on a mission to boost NBA income. Think about a real-world scenario crime witnesses that all saw the same thing happen, yet tell different stories because they saw or remember it differently than it may have happened, relate that to fast-paced basketball officiating and you can see how refs can miss even the most blatant calls.

It wouldn't have made a difference in the game but last night was the first time I have havee ever seen an offensive foul called when a guy was shooting the ball behind the 3 point line. Klay pump faked and tried to draw a shooting foul. I get a no call if he creates contact but I've never seen an offensive foul called. What a joke.
