New Chevelle / Red Hot Chili Peppers / Blink 182

All 3 will be out within 2 months. Blink may be mediocre without Tom but the other 2 should be dope. I pre-ordered the new Chevelle record "The North Corridor" and I was early enough to get the autographed copy. $20 for an autographed copy of the CD and a limited edition t-shirt from my all-time favorite band. They said they were going in "a heavier direction" which I'm still trying to fathom

All 3 also have new singles out to give us a taste

I'm excited about the new rhcp stuff. That was my favorite band during my teenage years, and still one of the top 5 now.

I love (the idea of) blink182, but even though I like alk3, right now Matt Skiba seems like the dude that bangs your ex.

I saw an interview where they said there are a lot of "teen/youth anthems" on the new record.. I kinda wish they'd leave the youthful anthems to people who aren't in their 40's (such as myself).
This is coming from a (possibly former?) blink superfan.

I'll pass on Chevelle and The Chilis. Chevelle is not my style and the Chilis are melodramatic and corny at best.
Blink 182 would be exciting except their time has passed and I can tell you with 95% blind certainty that it sucks :lol:

Nah I'll give them a listen. But bands shouldn't put out music if they have lost their touch. Many do regardless because they're people who have bills like anyone else, it's just sad though. Like Modest Mouse with Strangers, I could have gone without hearing that album.

The fact that the new Chili Peppers single is far from outstanding has me worried. Usually their singles say a lot about how good the album will be

I really liked Chevelle. Well one song can't even remember what it's called. Plus blink 182 same basic thing. Red Hot chili peppers have a ton of songs that are classics but I don't know anything else about them.

Yeah man it's scary to me how fast time goes. As a little kid, it seemed like a year would feel like 5 years. Now a year goes by and to me it feels like a few months or some shit. Maybe not THAT fast, but y'all know what I'm saying.

Burning through a calendar year these days happens at light speed it seems.
