Browning problem with P. Viridis and B. Caapi

Hello shroomery,
I'm having some browning problems (some leaves have fallen off the caapi) on both my p. viridis and b. caapi plants. I've had them acclimated to the climate for approximately a month (southern california) and the viridis seemed to be doing well and just recently started browning. I keep the viridis within a terrarium for humidity and under partial sunlight, same with the caapi. The soil mixture is whatever my source was using to get it to the point it's at now, it's still in it's original "pot". Could it be restricting the roots so early on with a plant that grows so slow? I'm usually watering it maybe once a week when the soil feels really dry on top almost sandlike and i keep the viridis soil moist but not wet. I don't believe there's root rot at least not yet because I haven't seen any spider-web like silk running over it. In addition to the browning, the viridis leaves seem to be drooping almost like a wilting.

Please help me save my plants, I received them as live clones and they looked like they were doing well at first but not anymore.

have pics?  some thoughts come to mind.  lower leaves will naturally start to yellow and fall off as they receive little to no light.  this is common on plants getting larger, especially the caapi.  my caapi plants have inches of dead leaves under them as they grow they shed.

actual browning sounds like humidity and if new cuts maybe not enough root yet.  a picture would help a lot.  being in california now its probably pretty dry and hot so some browning should be expected.  just make sure that when you put things in a terrarium (as they are usually glass/plastic) you still leave good airflow as to not cook the plants.  i find using other slightly larger plants and placing them around the circumference of the plant you want to have more humidity works best, then there is no issues of heat buildup and the other plants leaves will work as shade and also as a humidity dome of sorts.  as a matter of fact i have a bunch of p. viridis cuttings placed in dirt the other week and am using sweet potato plants to shade them and provide humidity as we have had soem crazy sun lately, albeit not as dry as your area.

It doesn't seem to be getting worse as far as browning but the leaves are still droopy which I don't know if it's normal or not.

The B. Caapi looked overwatered so I left it in the sun for a day or two and two of the leaves curled. Will they uncurl? I moved the plant into a much more shaded area to hopefully "recover".

they look quite healthy.  i would not worry at all in any way.  just remember tehy have travelled from cliamte A to climate B.  if you are from Normway and travel to Borneo, you might feel a bit droopy as well, but htey look really good....no jet lag or health issues i can see :wink:

I transplanted both of them and the P. Viridis seems to have come to a stop though I haven't looked at it carefully as it's in an enclosure, it doesn't seem to predominate it at least but the B. Caapi isn't looking so hot.



The soil is peatmoss, perlite and some other plumeria-based soil through which I washed through several times with water (which did seem to perk some of it up) it out and then put on Fish Emulsion with Kelp fertilizer, a very light fertilizer recommended by the nursery.
