It's happened before.. And in a whole, we don't learn from our mistakes all that well. History tends to repeat itself.

So yeah. That gives most of us like between 40 to 70 more years. Do you think that during that time a country will have used a nuclear device on another country?

You ask two questions:

"Will a country use a nuke on another country?"

and

"Will a city get nuked?"

No I don't think a city will get nuked, I think a tactical nuclear weapon such as a nuclear bunker buster will be used to wipe out hostile targets, like a tunnel complex or (para)military base.

America. I see the US government as the prime aggressor who would cut a corner and use a tactical nuke in one of their many wars. Elect Trump and it might happen sooner than you think. Using a nuke in combat is totally a Trump thing to do. Of course, versus mujahideen on horseback, not against another nuclear superpower like Russia or China.

it's never going to happen. why would the US use a tac nuke when the conventional non-nuclear arms they have already work just fine? not to mention we develop the best weapons and defense systems in the world for the most part. we have planes that can fire lasers at ballistic missles and vaporize them mid-flight.

They don't work fine for bunker busting.

They do work. I was going to give you a long rebuttal until i discovered we made nuclear bunker busters for the bigger stuff that's farther underground.

Anyway, I don't see us going to war with a major country anytime soon to give rise to a scenario in which we would actually use a bunker buster of that magnitude... Considering the Military Industrial Complex is doing just fine with the proxy wars we've been waging over the past several decades, there really is no need to actually put something like that to use. insurgents and guerilla fighters typically don't have the means necessary to build complex military bunkers that can hide from conventional precision guided bombs. we alread have stuff that can go through wall after wall after wall and explode when we tell it.

Al Quaida's caves were ideal for a nuclear bunker buster but Bush applied some sound reasoning and didnt. Trump likely would have.
