PEACE

"in times of widespread chaos and confusion, it has been the duty of more advanced human beings - artists, scientists, clowns, and philosophers - to create order. In such times as ours however, when there is too much order, too much m management, too much programming and control, it becomes the duty of superior men and women and women to fling their favorite monkey wrenches into the machinery. To relieve the repression of the human spirit, they must sow doubt and disruption"

"People do it every day, they talk to themselves ... they see themselves as they'd like to be, they don't have the courage you have, to just run with it."

Collecting sap is alot of work, you need to tap so many trees to get a whorthwhile amount of syrup that you need to cover a crazy amount of distance.

and you cant carry it all you need a large trailer with a big tank on it, and someone just drives it around slowly while a bunch of people carry heavy buckets of sap and dump them into the tank.

I bet most people who do it dont rely on it as a source of income they just enjoy it or they happen to have a bunch of land with sugar maples on it so they try it out and end up liking it. It is a good family bonding experience and syrup that you know you helped make is a great birthday or christmas gift. And most of them probably only make enough money to cover the cost of all the equiptment they needed to buy.

I could be wrong, maybe there are people who make mad cash from it.

I'm amazed it isn't more expensive then it is, considering trees can't produce many years. It's amazing how much they produce without destroying all the trees

It doesn't hurt the trees.

I thought I'd give it a try. I bought a bottle of grade A syrup and have been using it the past few days. It tastes incredible, puts the fake syrup shit to shame. It's much more expensive than the fake stuff too.

You're welcome.

I heard you could only drill them twice, then they are in danger of getting killed from the trauma

you should probably only tap an individual tree once or twice each season, but when next year rolls around you can start again--when properly done, tapping a tree will have zero affect on the health of the tree, with some trees remaining productive for over 100 years

Any, thanks. Twice a season, not twice 'ever'

Are you allergic to stupid pronunciations of common English words?

Funny thing is. There's no pronunciation involved on this website. Only reading
