I think it would be badass to mix pot in maple syrup then put on low heat for 30 minuts or so and strain it to make a maplejuana syrup! I might have to add a bit or water so it doesnt get too thick... Maby ill try some Sour Diesel Maplejuana Syrup this weekend? What do you guys think?

I'm not sure syrup would pull the cannabinoids out of the bud. I think you have to have something with a lot of fat-- like butter or cheese.

THC is fat soluble only, so anything fatty = ok to use
maple syrup doesn't have fat...so..yeah no.

The marijuana does not need to be dissolved, which as others are stating, requires a fat. The cannabinoids can also be suspended in the liquid, which is sufficient for carrying them into your body.

???
Yes, I'm sure that cannabinoids can be suspended in anything. But how are you going to get the cannabinoids out of the weed though?

Heating weed even in water will do it. Heat. If you've ever made tea out of something with fat in it like I made nutmeg tea once you'll see all the oils suspended in the water.

I'm gonna assume this would be a piss poor, inefficient extraction. But I'm not HEAVILY experienced in this area. I am just against misinformation.

I never stated water extracts cannabinoids. I stated that cannabinoids will become suspended in water and one can make weed tea and get high.

Come on guys take a science class
Sugar=Fat
Yes, simmer your maple syrup and enjoy the delicious weed flavored pancakes.
No I don't know a specific heat or time to create it.

This thread has piqued my curiosity.
Quote:
Making a tea by boiling cannabis in water is a highly inefficient way to extract cannabinoids, although if the cannabis is of good quality and has plenty of resin on the outside, a portion of resin can be softened by the heat and float out into the water.

Starches are long strings of sugars. Broken down when energy is needed. They give you 4 calories of energy per gram. Lipids give you 9 calories of energy per gram. Health nut to the rescue!

yeah you either have to add butter or some sort of fat to the water, or do it in milk.
milk sucks though cause you have to keep it from curding.
edit: and once again thanks waldo!

No you don't. Weed tea with just water will work. Cannabinoids alone get you high. They don't need to piggyback on some other lipid.
