Posts completely dissapearing??

I was looking for some old threads earlier, even a couple I had posted in, and noticed that I couldn't find them, so I checked in my list of posts and there was no record of me posting in these threads either. Is there a reason that threads would completely dissapear?? The main reason Im asking is that posts are normally deleted but can still be opened, this seemed to have literally disappeared.
