Yep.  Kids are gone.  5 bedrooms and 3.5 baths is insane for 2 people and 3 cats

There's nothing snooty about it.  It happens to be the law here.

Hey, congrats then!  Hope you like your new place as much as the old one.

I thought of you the other night when my friend invited me to go see a band that has 2 members of Frank Zappa's band, including one guy who did a lot of vocals, in the end of April.  I'm tempted to go because we're starved for live music (haven't been out since the baby was born), but it's tough to plan even a week ahead with a toddler, let alone 2 months.  Will let you know if I go.

Nice dude. That is probably a great feeling. What are your plans now?

Give away a lot of shit and find a rental house nearby.  We have to stay local for business reasons.  I'd like 3 beds and 2 baths.  We'll see what comes on the market in the next couple months.  It is still gonna be a nightmare moving but hopefully the kids will take a bunch of shit off our hands.  They should.  They are all starting their own lives and we have a ton of crap.  Hopefully my hoarder wife will give some of it up.

I hope my weekend goes the same way. Trying to sell a boat and have three showings between tomorrow and Sunday.

You have no idea.  I knew roughly what I was gonna get but being kicked out of the house for showings and inspections was a pain in the ass

I have an idea.

Signing those contracts takes about an hour of straight page-flip-signature-page-flip-signature.

We'll be there in about 2 months, not looking forward to it.

1 weekend is a pretty fast turnaround. What am I missing?

They kick you out of the house the whole weekend.  Then they kick you out for the inspections.  Then there was the three weeks of sprucing the place up beforehand.  You are right about the one weekend thing.  That was great but that is usually how it goes here.  The house is big but quirky andt it has three things that are most important.  The Manor, the school and the ten minute walk to the train station.  Location location location.

And now I have the great fun of getting my wife to throw shit out or the kids to take and get a place to go and packing.  The amount of shit is astonishing.  It aint mine.  I could live out of a suitcase with a few pots and pans.  My wife is incapable of parting with anything.  Gonna be an interesting next couple months.
