they must have thought they?d find something. they probably knew they were exaggerating a bit there i think, but they seriously must have thought they?d find something. maybe they weren?t even sure what was supposed to be there or where they would find it... but the attitude was something like... "oh hell, it?s IRAQ for christ?s sake... we?re bound to find SOMETHING"... shoot first, ask questions later? i dunno. how much did they, or didn?t they know?

Honestly, they may have thought they'd find something. But I'm sure all that lovely oil underneath Iraq was more than a minor factor in the decision to invade.

maybe they didnt know for sure.. but ill bet they had a strong hunch that they wouldnt find anything...the junta is hesitant to invade iran or n. korea because they have guns..and they might shoot back..not so in iraq...
