Re: strange fluff in spore water

I would give a try...
probably it's mycelium, so try few jars and see by yourself....

I had half of a B+ syringe left over from a batch my neighbor's dog did and ended up waiting around 6 months before it was used again. Anyways, there was a whole bunch of that blue 'fluff' in it. The jars that the dog made are almost completely colonized and there is absolutely no sign of contamination. I'm not sure why it fluffed up like that but it certainly isn't bad.

One of Randy Beamin's PF syringes had blue fluff. About 2 days after innoculation, there was visible growth. Faster than it would have been otherwise (i believe). Especially since the incubation box was a little on the cold side.

Thanks guys. The only difference is the fluff in my spore water ain't blue, but rather white. I guess it's the same though, I just wanted to know if germination in the water (and the fridge) was possible. It appears so, and I hope it'll speed up germination in the jar. Thanks again.

The white fluff is likely to be mycelium. The spores probably utilized any trace minerals in the water to germinate themselves while in the water. As for the fridge, this should slow down mycelial growth to almost a halt, but not completely.
