I think it depends on the person.

I've climbed on a lot of psyches, and I climb really well when it's low consequence.

I feel very in tune with my body.  more-so than when im sober honestly.


I just wouldn't wanna be responsible for someone else.

I'm confident I'd be safe and responsible for myself, but you have your partners lives in your hands when there's avy danger.

I'm up in Portland now, but I'll be visiting Reno for easter.  Hopefully with this El Nino there will be a lot of snow still on the mountains.  I want to ride Mammoth this season.

mammoth has been crazy good this year.
although that's where me and my buddy triggered an avy in the same week.
his was real deal though. took him 100 yards but he was ok. they wrote a big article about it.

I grew up skiing and then switched to boarding. My friends and I have had many a session on the chair lifts if there was no wind that day. Or find a nice place somewhere in the woods to sit down kick it for a minute and smoke some weed. Then back to slayin it.

I boarded for 15 years and then went back to skiing 3 years ago.

I wanted to get back into skiing. But never had the money to. I dropped like 1500$ on my boarding set up. I haven't been back to the slopes since I moved. I miss it so much it's the one time I felt peace. There's nothing like sitting at the top of a mountain and it's so quiet. No worries no cares just a day of interprerting this mountiain. Put in the headphones. Fuck yes lets do this.

used stuff is pretty cheap.

lots of it around at the start and end of the season

i just got rid of the last of my snowboard set up.

now im setting up a 4th pair of skis :facepalm::lol:

I'm dropping just enough to be really happy and a little silly, nothing too heady. Even mid week there is usually a little crowd, although out of the park it is pretty wide open.

Ya I know the best times to buy gear I did it for 10 years. Before that my parents bought it. :lol:

Skis are way more expensive. I wanted to but I was a broke ass ski bum. Got money for the lift ticket, weed, and maybe some beers. I did borrow my friends skis from time to time. I was a pretty good skier as a kid. Why I wanted to get back into it. Never found the time or money. :shrug:
