karo syrup ?

I just bought a bottle of Light Karo,but when i got home i noticed that it says"Real Vannila added",i read the ingrediants and besides the syrup,it has vannila and salt.Did i buy the wrong kind?Will this work?This is my first time trying the Karo Tek.

Dude, I looked everywhere, every bottle said with real vinalla added.

I looked all over. I didn't see 1 bottle that didn't say that on it. So if it's the wrong stuff, I have no idea where you would get the right stuff.

Thats fine, I just loked at my bottle and it says the same thing.
It works fine.

I just did some karo syrup...same thing with the vanilla...although.you really need a presure cooker to adequately sterilize the container you mix the karo syrup and water together in...just my two cents

Yup, I PC it for 20 minutes after the rocker starts then let it cool completely inside the cooker. canning lid upsidedown. rubber side up
Then flip it after inoc and seal it tight.

I put a self-healing silicone injection point in my lid. Therefore I can PC with the lid on, and reduce the risk of contams.

i use little plastic containers and microwave them for 5 minutes. i have had no contam issues whatsoever.

good because i nuked for 2 minutes,cooled for 5 minutes(did this 3 times),then i boiled for 10 minutes on the stove in my steamer pot,so it should deffinatly be good right?

I boil the karo/water mix for 10 min and never had one contam :grin:

karo work should always be done in a glovebox as mex suggested.
