Just recently, my roommate who's been attempting to grow shrooms for the past 4 months lol, emptied some jars into the aquarium in my room last week in an experiment. He later showed me that some of the fungi was growing outside of the case that week. All of a sudden I begin to get rashes on my hand and on my right elbow.

I know for a fact that it was from the shrooms just within the relatively short time frame the two exist with each other. Despite the others such as contact with a person or contracting it from a pet can be factors, it just seems to obvious after reading this story.

This is just a warning for people out there, that I believe ringworm should be a noted risk if being exposed to contaminated jars.

I want to bump this thread and chime in on my own unfortunate experiences, I have went 26 years without this problem until relatively recently when I was tasked with disposing of over half a dozen contaminated jars during my first attempt at growing.  Unfortunately I didn't RE sterilize the jars before opening them and shortly thereafter I myself developed ringworm which has proven to be very difficult to eradicate. I think this should be a noted health concern when it comes to disposal of contaminated substrates because ringworm can and is in fact cultured. This infection is a pain in the a$$ and has been with me for a several months, and is still currently so if anyone has suggestions other than creams then let's hear them  I'm thinking maybe tea tree oil suspended in a carrier oil.....Any ways be careful when disposing of contaminated materials!
