pmp broke, please suggest a terranium or other
    #2233968 - 01/10/04 11:29 PM (14 years, 3 months ago)

the pump i was using for my pmp broke so now i have two options. option 1 is to buy a new -quieter- air pump (if you know of a good one please post a link) or make something new alltogether. if i make something new i will build a new box for it all to go in so size isnt too important now. so to all you people that dont use a pmp or perlite setup, what do you have, what do you suggest and can it be automated? thanks.

The next bump up from a PMP is using a humidifier - but they are a pain in the ass in a lot of ways. I originally had a perlite setup and then went right to a humidifier - it was really difficult keeping the humidity in the fruiting chamber consistently in the right range.

I'm using this :

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2371193430&category=20755

Jetstream dual pump 3500 cc/min, which is enough for 3 air exchanges per hour for a big and tall 18 gallons terrarium.

It's extremly quiet!! Not like that other pump i have...

.fs.
