No but it def works for alot of things. If the price of produce went up more due to say idfk a higher demand it would make sense for alot more things too. Now if we had say extreme amounts of cheap clean energy it would make even more sense.

Do you know where you don't have to save water for farming?  All of New York State..  How are you gonna stack farm corn?  The shit grows eight feet tall.  How you gonna grow potatoes and carrots and turnips?  They need soil depth.

dewd your forgetting that people are dumping like trillions of dollars to solve the energy "crisis" for fucking decades. Once you have efficent clean energy everything literly everything becomes alot cheaper to produce and suddenly the whole game has changed hasnt it? I don't know... I almost want to agree in that it sounds like one of these pipe dream alternative energy ideas that we always hear about but never solidify. Though kind of like Moore's law things get cheaper and use less power. Our biotechnology and use of genetics is getting better, as well. Since growing plants outdoors seems to have obvious disadvantages (exposure to bugs, parasites and the elements) it seems things might converge in that direction once it *does* become feasible on a commercial scale.
