Re: 33 mg of melatonin [Re: Delirious Dwemer]

Melatonin is not a sedative. It won't help you sleep in the way you think. If only helps if you are deficient in melatonin ofherwise it won't help at all.

Try valerian root ,
It actually will sedate you and help you sleep.

It's funny how melatonin has wildly different effects for different people.  I rarely have trouble sleeping and if I do 1 mg of it will knock me out cold.  Doesn't work at all for my girlfriend or brother.  There seems to be a lot of misinformation out there about it too.

Also in my experience 1mg works much better then taking 5mg.

It really depends on the sleep schedule issue your having. Say you want to get to bed early one night and you normally go to bed at 11pm but you want to be asleep by 9pm. It will help in that respect because all it really does is speed up your natural sleep clock.

If you are flat out on a fucked up sleep schedule and are trying to sedate yourself to induce sleep it won't work like that. That is why I believe it doesn't work for many. I have had it work and not work because of both different cases.

Another thing to note is all natural melatonin comes from cow brains so I'd go with the synthetic stuff.

Still does nothing for me. My insomnia is so extreme.

Check your urine pH. If it's 6.2 or below, try taking baking soda to raise it up to around 6.5 - 7. (You need to take the baking soda in between meals - like 2 hours after or 2 hours before eating). Also, inositol is good. It's sweet tasting. You can take alot of it with no problems - like 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon every 20 minutes. Lecithin is good also (it has inositol in it). A tablespoon of the soy granules is good. Then there's calcium, magnesium, and vitamin D. Vitamin D recommendations are 3000 - 5000 units. If you're eating alot of sugar, that can cause insomnia (and panic attacks).

Cell phone's (unlike computer monitors) are actually proven to help speed up the sleep process, so keep doing what ur doing and you'll be asleep in no time.

Acupuncture is fully legit .

The main benefit of melatonin is its antioxidant power not sleep.

It protects you from radiation as well.

It's a uniquely potent antioxidant .

For sleep / insomnia - zzquil works well but can only be used occasionally .

Valerian is great, like a natural benzo. So is kava.

L theanine, pharmagaba, California poppy. Also worth a try .

Also raw cacao, chamomile tea...

I totally believe in ayurvedic healing. Somthing I want to get back into when I have a better income.

The urine p.h. testing sounds interesting. I will try that. I took 50,000 iu of vitamin D The other day and I feel a little more alive. I forget the nutrition aspect, I used to be on top of that but now I can't afford much food so I go to bed starving. I used to maintain a very healthy lifestyle with excercise, yoga, healthy diet and ayurveda which made a significant difference, but i stopped due to lack of funds. Lack of food =lack of excercise. That is something i must find a way to get back to.

That is interesting about Melatonin. One thing I didn't  know.

I had a masturbate a thon last night and got some decent sleep after. Sometimes I just really need to cum 12 times.

Intense outdoor exercise in sun and fresh air during the day equals good sleep at night.

Ahh I know, that's the remedy.

Also yes I understand I must get back to exercising, but since I'm  too broke to afford enough food or dabs, currently, I literally can't expend that much energy. So really it's a proscess to get back there.
I have to move this august to have a better income, so I can afford a better lifestyle. So all in due time I guess.

Regarding not being able to afford food, just a few quick tips; Eggs, organs, rice and veggies are dirt cheap. Hopefully that helps, because I lived off those breifly. Being a broke healthnut can indeed happen. Grass fed butter as well as the previously mentioned foods are afforadable yet calorie dense and almost dirt cheap

Also; I am actually quite interested in auyurveda. I have had acupuncture many times and felt a difference. If you have any links to specific books for an intro to auyurveda that would be nice

I've learned a majority of what I know just by doing research.
YouTube also is a great place to learn about herbalism/ayurveda.

Thanks for the tips
