Why do bluelighters feel the need to say "SWIM"?

Its not like anyones ever gotten in trouble because of a forum that they post on. And The second you say "SWIM" any LE or potential employer would know that your talking about yourself. That sounds just as incriminating to me.

Bluelight's guidelines actually say not to use it. New people use it here too. Are you sure people use it on Bluelight more than they do The Shroomery?

I cannot stand the SWIM thing. Some people really really don't want to go to jail, but go about it in a misguided way...
Hence why I lurked in Cultivation for damn near a decade. It made my asshole pucker just to think about posting in that and I've only recently started because I moved to another country. After I was contracted to do forensics on a grow op bust of an unknown species, I got THE FEAR.

its just perpetuated ignorance.

some people think that if they say "SWIM" it would legally protect them. it doesnt

its happened. people have been busted online for everything from harassment to terrorism and child pornography. and saying SWIM wouldn't have helped them at all

SWIM feels the need to say SWIM  so SWIM  will feel protected for what he is saying. Understand where SWIM is coming from? SWIM said this, not me and if you reply reply to SWIM. Use SWIY
