Drums and Tuba
    #2161448 -

Anyone heard of them? I saw them the other day and they put on a hell of a show, they consist of a really good guitarist, good drummer, and a tuba player that uses tons of synths and a sampler, they have a really unique sound, check them out. They sounded SOMEWHAT like tool to me at some points during the show, peace.

Yeah I have heard of them and I think they are pretty damn good. The first I ever heard of them was at the first Bonnaroo and they rocked there, and I just saw a show of theirs a month or two ago. I haven't ever heard anything that sounds like them before. There aren't really any lyrics, it's all just the instruments. They definitely have a unique sound, I just love that tuba mixed in, it fits perfectly with the music. I highly recommend catching one of their shows if any of you ever get the chance.

Also, when I saw them, they were touring with some dude called That 1 Guy, who played a homemade instrument he called his "magic pipe". It was sorta like Les Claypool's whamola, only alot better with all kinds of buttons and special effects. At one point in the show he made a stream of smoke come out of the top of the pipe, like with a fog machine or something, and it was really cool. That 1 Guy is from San Francisco, and myself and pretty much everyone at the show I saw was really blown away by his performance. Just seeing him produce these sweet songs with nothing more than himself and some shit he put together from home depot and some guitar parts and things was awesome. It was amazing and everyone should see one if his shows if this sounds cool to you.

I saw them open for Les Claypool. I only saw about half the set,but from what I did see, they kicked ass.

yeah i've seen them a couple times, and i too was impressed. I love how the guitarist sort of plays two guitars at the same time...that's awesome. And the tuba player is really fucking cool..what he does is takes parts from everyone and loops them. like the guitarist will be playing something and it runs into the tuba guys setup and he puts it into a looper(which is kind of hard to do live) and they start playing more stuff over the loops. it's really cool once they get going.
