Faking A Resume?
    #21646234 -

What are the potential consequences if caught? I was thinking of applying at several companies for 100,000+ a year jobs

Fake contacts, prior experience, etc

I just want to see what will happen

Anyone done it before?

Lol you'll get tripped up in the interview If you even make it that far. Have fun getting blacklisted by all of the companies you apply to after they find out

I know a guy who is making 90k a year and hasn't been caught after 6 months of work. The job is just to manage other peoples jobs. It's easy and can be done without any real experience, but they wanted a bachelors. lol

My aunt did something like this when she was in her early 20s to get a headstart.

it worked..
she eventually became VP of whatever company it was she faked her resume for and now owns her own business.

If you do that Steven Seagal gets called up by Obama to come handcuff you to a fire hydrant.

They wouldn't

I just wouldn't risk it. im sure a little embellishment is fine, but outright lying about years of Job experience that You never had? That's a little much IMO

No risk no reward my friend

Better than working at mcdonalds for 7.50 an hour

You want fries with that?

I'm in my 20s anyways and the companies I am going to apply at are not places I would normally apply to anyways. if they catch me then who cares.

You'll probably be better at faking your way through a job than you are at cheating on your wife, at least.

Yeah, the worst consequence would be getting fired from the job you lied to get.

If you go through with it and are successful, totally update this thread, or at least :pm: me; I'm interested to hear about it.

I embellished my resume to become a teacher. The question was: Have you ever been convicted of a crime? I checked "no". :smirk:

At the time my record was not sealed or expunged and publicly available. So how did I beat the background check? Misspelling my name on the form.

(this would not have worked if I weren't working internationally. In the US they use FBI check linked to your fingerprint to check all 50 states)

Fake it until you make it. Where do you think that phrase came from? I bet 50 percent of people lie on their resumes

Gangster. That's impressive, but its not quite as impressive as claiming to have a degree or a lot of experience you don't have.

OP, I've thought about doing it too. Never have though. I'd wanna thoroughly research the functions of any job I tried to get so I could fake competence better.

again I think stretching the truth is one thing but pulling a resume straight outta your ass? What happens when they call your references that are suddenly non existent? Or when They try and call your previous employer and get no answer?
