I hallucinate all the time, but never spiders upon waking up.

Most likely you fell back to sleep really fast and had a quick dream, then the spider thing when you woke up.
Falling back asleep in the morning is the easiest way I've found to lucid dream. I'm able to dream but I think consciously at the same time. Pretty much able to make anything and everything happen in a dream at this point if I get there.
Was able to fly around and control my flight once. But I had to point my finger in the direction I wanted to go.

I have vivid dreams very often, and can often remember them upon waking if i consciously try to recall them. A few times i've dreamt that i was in my best friend's house and that there were spiders spinning down on their webs from the ceiling. Also on high doses of benadryl i always see spiders crawling around just out of focus length away from me, but i can handle benadryl pretty well so i know they are hallucinations.

I am reading a book at the moment called From a Broken Web, and the author goes really REALLY deep into things. She is exploring how the patriarchy has caused us to disconnect from our deeper selves, others, other species, and the whole natural world.

She says that in Goddess mythology the spider was seen as very sacred and used as a metaphor for how interconnectivity is woven, ad there is the myth of  Spider Woman



So my point is that having vision of spiders is very powerful in a mythical sense
