I'm going to say yes, but lets see if others agree.

i'd let the grow till before they firm up and begin to become tough.

BTW, no fair... how come you get to find some with central stipes...

definately get a print [hint: black paper ], and even key it out if you are not especialy familiar with this and related species.

Those look like oysters to me.

Even if you do the spore print on white paper you should still be able to see it. It actually comes out a pale lilac color.

Happy mushrooming!

ok, after having a bit of fun with my field guides, they seem to key out verry close to P. oystreatus [P. oystreatus group].

the well developed stipes and violet/lilac tinges seem to disagree, but there are also other pissibilities within the genus not covered by the scope of my books.

They look like normal specimens of Pleurotus pulmonarius, which would fall right into the Pleurotus ostreatus group. They tend to have better developed stems and darker caps.

Happy mushrooming!

Good find, hope they tasted well, I find
they taste much better than shop bought ones, due
to freshness and substrate.

dont forget to check the same spot in the summer after rain
