Modest Mouse 4/20 + Drugs * 1

Modest Mouse is here in Pittsburgh on 4/20 and I have two tickets. At this moment in time I am going by myself, which I'm chill with.

I bought a gram of MXE and a tab of AL-LAD, and this is my plan:
Get out of exams at 4, go to concert venue and be there by 5:30. Hopefully it will be a nice day. I preordered an Interstate 8 vinyl so I'm going to bring that and see if I can find Isaac and cop a signature and a photo. After which, I will dose the 150ug of AL. The show starts at 7PM, which I assume means that's when the doors open and the opener starts at like 8 or something. I'll try to dose at 6.

Here are my questions:

I've never done MXE, and I weigh ~ 130, So I'm planning on taking 25mg with me and dosing that right before Modest Mouse hits the stage. Is that a good feeler dose to not get too fucked up, but synergize well with AL-LAD and weed. I want to be in the perfect state of feeling the music but not too fucked up.

I plan on going early so I can get right up front. I also want to bring a joint or blunt to burn if/when one of my many favorite songs comes up. Will security really give me a hassle? I was at a Weezer concert and I could smell the MARIJUANA, but I'm trying to be right up front and I don't know how venues deal with the inevitable weed. I'll also bring my dab pen just in case because I could easily just say its a vape pen.

Any tips for getting to the front/copping a signature/doing drugs at a venue?

yeah be smart when smoking. some venues dont care, some do

dont be right up front ir ur tryinh to blaze. you wanna blend in, hold in those hits and blow down so its like not super obvious where the smoke is from. by time you blow it down and the smoke rises, it wont be like a thick cloud


and dude, be safe. i hope ur not planning on driving on that combo

funny story about doin drugs in venues and not getting caught




on saturday i went to a show and i never go to the bathroom to do drugs, thats too obvious and noob status. i just take all the molly in my bag and put it in my hand and eat it off my hand. i dont wanna have a drug baggy on me so i always throw it on the floor like right when im done with it. so thats what i did. ate some molly and threw it on the ground


so like 2 minutes later a security guard is walking past me and looks down and sees my empty bag like riiiight in front my shoes. he grabs it and puts the bag in my face and shows it to me. i just looked at him and im like "yeah, cool dude!" like you found an empty drug bag on the floor where i happened to be standing, congrats

its funny too cuz i got in a big argument with that same dude after a show a few months ago so i thought he was gonna kick me out but he really couldnt. i thought that situation was pretty hilarious

you don't mention what venue, but im in the area and have been to CEC to see roger waters. there was one guy who lit up a joint halfway through nearby me. nobody seemed to care, although there wasnt any security in the immediate area where he was smoking. so i have no idea how many people were smoking, i think the trick is to just wait for a good opportunity

if i were you, i'd google search the venue and look to see reviews & stories if people use drugs in the open regularly

Built to Spill I have been getting really into as of recently, good fucking vibes!

The venue is stage AE, and no I definitely won't be driving. I'm taking the Pittsburgh Port Authority! That's going to be a joke trying to use after said drug use lol

So now I'm torn. I really want to be right up front. I can't imagine
but smoking pot seems necessary. I may just whip out the vape pen because... well its Pittsburgh. Everyone and their mom has an ecig.

What do you guys think about 25-30mg MXE for a first time + AL LAD? Is 25mg a good place? I don't want to be disassociating out of my body but I am definitely going for that drunken good vibes zone. I'm experienced with psychedelics, but the closest to dissociatives I've been is Benedryl or Nitrous Oxide. I've done my research, but not much is said to describe low dose MXE

YO bassfreak I heard you're a scrub but you seem chill as fuck lmao. Is molly your show-jam? I plan on doing that same thing with mxe, except putting it in a capsule and just chomping down and trippin out

MXE is a lovely chem.  I would recommend you try the 25 mg at least once so you get a feel for it, rather than taking it for the first time at a show.  There is a sweet spot for MXE where you can dance with fluidity, and 25mgs sounds about right (But I'm a lot bigger guy).  A little too much will leave you floored and just want to sit there.  It happened to me during Primus a few years ago at Summercamp.  Also, IME the first few times doing MXE it has some real nice audible distortions, but sometimes it can also really scramble sound in an unpleasant way.  I'd be bummed if I went to see MM and the words and instruments sounded out of order and rhythm.  I feel like MXE goes really well with electronic music.

I personally prefer to do MXE in a situation where I can sit around with friends and get maniacal.  Modest Mouse is one of my favorite bands and I don't think I'd want to do MXE at a MM show.  I'd definitely dose the AL-LAD, however.  Not trying to turn you off to the idea of Mexxy-Flipping, but I certainly would recommend getting familiar with the substance before doing it in public like that.  MDMA would probably be a better choice if available. 

I can't quantify how envious I am that you are going to a MM show.  It is one of the bands that I must see before I die.  I also first heard Modest Mouse while I was tripping, and it was also Interstate 8 on a bunch of mushrooms :grin:

ive never done mxe but thats exactly how i feel about K, a bump or two is fine at a show but anthing more than that is too much and kinda ruins dancing, which means things are only gonna be so much fun

it just has the potential to ruin a show you reallllly care about...its a couch thing

I wouldn't take any MXE at a concert. I just don't see the point. I'm not even sure I would want to do LSD at a Modest Mouse show. Actually the last time I saw them, I was happy that I was just drinking. It was like it was everybody's first concert and their fans don't know the proper etiquette. I had girls bouncing into me all night and screaming really close to my head. You might be at a better venue with a better crowd though so maybe

Hmm, it'll be here by next weekend... maybe I should get a feeler for 25mg next weekend. Problem is that my studies are so intense because I've been slacking off on the chem readings and now I'm playing catch up before my exam. Idk what to do, but I really just want that little extra push. First tries with a novel substance are always the most memorable for me, so that's why I'm thinking MM is prime testing grounds. I can handle my shit pretty well... but I definitely don't want to ruin this concert. I don't think I can though. I'm so excited. I mean obviously if I just down 100mg, but I'm only going to do max 25mg, and go crazy. I feel odd going to a show alone, but only a little because its MM. No one I know loves MM as much as I do, and the few people that I do definitely don't fuck with MXE or AL-LAD.


Anyone have any tips on meeting/getting a signature? Is it typical to go before or wait until after?

Im going to second this, it'll throw off motor coordination and if you over do it i would imagine it'd be difficult to navigate that type of environment.

I mean I read that low dose MXE is in essence a psychedelic-esque drunken state where music sounds amazing and the body feels loose. I'm not planning on holing at all. Maybe I'll do 15mg though... I'm not 21 so I can't officially drink (fuck me right?) so if I booze up, by the time I get inside and all that I'll be sobering up.

I just saw them here in charleston last month was fucking awesome Isaac Brock is awesome on stage I was rolling on two points of Molly I was saving just for it. so i would say go big or go home. Just be smart about it.
