New Marketplace subforum idea....? * 1

I made this user created subforum  for members to sell their handmade (etc) stuff. There is the idea behind the creation of it summed up in the "rules" thread of the forum.
Yogabunny came up with the idea, and I made the forum.. So if it turns out to be a good idea, it's her win.

The name sucks, I'm aware, but it's essentially what it is; the Etsy of our site.
The marketplace is great, make no mistake, and we can still go about everything as usual if need-be, but it's mostly about spores and related mushroom stuff and people trying to thin out their closets and shit.

I was hoping we could add this as a subforum of the marketplace that members can showcase and offer their wares to other members so we can help support each other and add another element to the site that furthers its awesome nature.

Thought?

I'd say like any new forum, give it some time to mature and build up some interest and if it seems to take well, then making it an official subforum would probably not be a terrible idea.

It's the current visibility I worry about if that's the deciding factor (its popularity)

Well you have it in your sig, it should generate some interest. Just give it some time and promote it.
But that's generally how it goes with subforums or full forums in the past. If there's enough activity to justify it and seems like it will stick, then the admins may consider making it an official one. That's what happened with the gaming grotto and numerous other forums, actually they started off as a subforums and turned into their own forums.. this was before user-created forums existed.. but you get the idea.

I know the admins are a little wary of adding too many forums, we don't want to turn into hipforums (lol).

Making it a subforum of the marketplace I think is a good idea personally. But let the forum mature a bit and develop some post activity a bit first.
