heres a puzzler: I seem to be able to detect very low voltage shocks.
    #21411163 -

It started a few days ago. I kept getting these very tiny shocks from touching my microwave, so I assumed something was wrong with the microwave. But my room mate is an electrician, and he couldn't find any problems.

Now today my sink faucet was delivering very small shocks to me. I went and got my room mate to see if he could feel it, and he could not. His theory is that I am more sensitive to electricity than most people. according to him, most people can't detect anything below 70 volts, so we plan to test how low my detection goes later on. (our dishwasher was on, so there was a potential path that would explain why I felt electricity in the faucet btw)

Has anybody else ever experienced this? I'm having trouble finding the right keywords do get anything out of google. Its definitely not static electricity. Or at least, it feels distinctly different than static shocks do. It makes my fingers all tingly.

I'm hoping I'm not developing electromagnetic hypersensitivity like the guy from better call saul :tinfoil:

i thought 70 volts sounded high..

maybe 70 volts at household amperage? I don't know shit about electricity.

I assume he use a voltmeter and he found no potential. Sounds more like you have some kind of psychosomatic issue.

You can feel 5 volts AC if your fingers are wet. DC has a much higher threshold.

It can't be static. I'm not even wearing socks. I know what static feels like. its distinctly different than this

The faucet shocks me very consistently.

If your wiring isn't grounded, then his ground reference may be useless. He needs to create a known ground, and check for voltages relative to that.

Now last night I was petting my cat to the point that I got some static shocks.

Made my whole hand all tingly and almost numb feeling. Its like I'm feeling static electricity differently. (I realize that this sounds like the typical sensation static shocks give you, but it feels distinctly different than it used to)

Man, Static Shock was kind of a cool show....see if you can fly on a manhole cover with your electric powers.

Stick a 9 volt battery to your tongue. You'll feel it.

In other words, your roommate is dumb.

Then I drive away in my solar powered piece of shit car, cool stuff man.

And then I go kill a bitch because the flaming orb in the sky told me to do so, and I don't know, oppress a few minorities here and there in the name of nuclear fusion?

Religion is fun.

I get electrocuted by iPhones and my macbook if I touch it right. That's probably pretty common though, I would imagine.

I do have a story though that has always been a bit of a mystery to me.

I was about 13, I lived with my friends family and the parents had gone on holiday, so naturally I invite my older friends over and we all sit around getting stoned.
The friend I was living with, his father was an electrician. There was a digital voltmeter sitting around where we were smoking, and one of the kids starts playing with it.
He soon put one of the probes on each of his temples, and the voltmeter gave a slight reading (maybe around >5 volts) which we all thought was pretty funny.
The voltmeter was passed around the table to see who had the highest reading. Most peoples readings were very similar.
Then when it is my turn, I place a probe on each temple, to see the volts very quickly skyrocket up to near the 100volt mark and the feeling of magnet pressure in my head. By magnet pressure, I mean it felt like both probes were magnetised and there was some force trying to almost crush my head.

Not sure what happened there but I did try it again not too long after, only for the exact same thing to happen. I didn't try it ever again after that.

Until the 20th century, reality was everything humans could touch, smell, see,
and hear.
Since the initial publication of the charged electromagnetic spectrum, humans
learned that what they can touch, smell, see, and hear... is less than one
millionth of reality.

Do it man, post results.

Just be ready to rip those fucking things off your temple if it starts to hurt. I'd hate to think what would have happened if I had of just left them on. It was definitely building up to something bad.
