help with ID please. pic and print

I found these guys growing under a tree with some leaves and twigs.
It looked like they were growing from the soil. Oh, in Washington state. The cap was a caramel color turning white at the edges.
gills were attached, a creamy grey brown color. the stem was hollow
turning brown where damaged. the cap is turning a white yellow color
wile drying. spore print is dark purple. any help would be apreciated.

They are not active. I live in washington state as well, and I have seen these, but I never properly identified them, sorry.

from what you have given and what i can infere from the pictures, they are either a Psathyrella or a Naematoloma. i would lean toward the later, but i could be wrong. in either case, as was stated above, they are inactive, but fun to try to id :smile:.

the print, as mentioned above, is dark purple.

I'll go with Psathyrella over Hypholoma, mostly because they were growing from soil and not wood.

Nice photos, and interesting specimens.
