Need help with ID (PICS)
    #802308 -

Ok, im VERY new at this, I actually dont even hunt mushrooms, but I found these in my back yard (ohio) growing out of old tree stumps. Im sorry if the answer is obvious, but I couldnt figure it out with the faqs. The closest picture/description I found was ?Psilocybe caerulipes?, and it seems to match it exactly.
Trying to do a spore print now...will be my first.
Heres the pics, sorry if they?re bad, this is all new to me.

Well they're not Ps. caerulipes, I can tell you that. They could be Gyms, but the apperance of the stems makes me think otherwise... they could also be poisonous.

Lets see what the others say.

Hmm ive never seen mush like that before. For some reason the look psilocybish to me, but do not take my word for it since im not an expierenced hunter. Ive never seen fungus like that around here in ohio.

Take a spore print(cut the cap off a mushroom and lay it on piece of white paper and get the color of the spores.

Nice guess, and pretty reasonable. So we're going to probably see a lot of Armillarias here over the next couple weeks. Just like we just went through a phase with Chlorophyllum.

By the way, the spores, from my newbie print (it didnt really look like a print, just some dust), were brown, if that helps.

Honey Mushrooms are the various species of the genus Armillaria (formerly the Armillaria mellea complex of species). They are edible, although there is significant difference of opinion on how good they are (none of them will get you high). They should be well cooked if you tend to eat them, as undercooked Honey Mushrooms have been identified as the culprit in numerous poisonings (basically very upset stomach). If you are going to try eating them, sample a small amount first (don't just go for it) so that if you get sick it won't be as bad. Honey Mushrooms are responsible for more poisonings than any other edible mushrooms (according to NAMA). Personally, I like to eat them, fried, with steak.

The ones in the photos look a bit older than I would eat - hopefully you've got some fresher ones to try.

Dark brown print.

The stump of the tree is a dead one, from a MAPLE tree thats been dead for 13 or so years.

Honey Mushrooms have a white spore print. So, if the spore print is brown, they are not Honey Mushrooms.

A brown spore print and growing on wood in a cespitose cluster suggests Pholiota. I'm not aware of any Pholiotas that get you high, and the only one I know which is eaten regularly is Pholiota nameko, which your specimens clearly are not. Pholiota squarrosa is eaten by a few people, but it also causes fairly severe gastrointestinal problems in some cases (ask Dr. Jack States about it sometime). Without an accurate ID, do not eat your specimens (I hope that was already obvious without my saying it).

Galerina also has brown spore prints and sometimes grows on wood in clusters, and some Galerinas are deadly (same poisons as the deadly Amanitas).

Wish I had a better picture...could be gypsy mushrooms...also edible...nah can't be sure without a better photo.

"...I found dozens of single specimens.  That's what I call hunting.  There are only a few "good" hunters here, even now.  You're certainly in that group.  I would imagine if we hunted together we'd find our styles are similar."
- Mr. Mushrooms

RIP Matt, your friendship and your contributions to the world of fungi will be missed. Unfortunately we never got to hunt together.
