Personally, I can't imagine how there could be. Seriously, how many people that shop at your local Lowes grow shrooms? And out of those, how many would buy the compost? And how many bags would they buy?
I know my local lowes would sell maybe 1 bag a month, hardly worth keeping the fresh stock on hand.
Sorry to be a naysayer, I just don't see it working out.

They wouldn't sell at every Lowe's. Like you said it wouldn't be worth it as things currently stand. However, I think they would do better than several other items that sell at Lowe's in large cities.
How many San Pedro cactuses sell at Home Depot every month? Probably not many. Yet they sell them every month at SOME Home Depots.
They don't have to sell like Miracle Grow Potting Soil. They just have to sell enough to make some money.

Well, Camario, there is no deal as far as I know. A few months ago HMC was encouraged to look at getting a contract with Lowe's and HMC seemed receptive to the idea at least. I'm just trying to see if anything happened.

Well if they do sign a contract I sure do hope that it is the same product. Prepastuerized and pre-moisturized.

If HMC reads this, I would actually advise a non-pasteurized and dried product. This would allow for a much longer shelf life, lower costs, and drastically lowered shipping costs. Obviously not everyone agrees (like SixCee), but thats just my opinion. I just don't see a point in using compost at all if all you can afford to buy is a couple quarts or even a couple gallons. And it would be cool to just go pick up a 50 pound sack of dried compost at Lowe's!

personally, for the home-grower, small prepasteurized, hydrated biobags are the absolute best. but, there should be the option for more bulk-style growers too, i guess (in case you didn't get it, i truly HMC

Yeah, I hear you. I just think that if you are only doing a few quarts worth of compost, it'd be more efficient to just case a couple quarts of grain. But I guess I'm getting off topic. If someone of your rep loves it, I'm sure it's good stuff. And the more available good stuff is, the better the world is, right? I hope the contract works out.

We don't have a contract with LOWES or any one else, we want to stay small so we can keep the best quality control possible --someday maybe....but personally, shopping in large megastores gives us a headache....

yech! fungus gnats!
But, probably couldn't happen, all our bags are sealed, with filter patches...shouldn't be a problem no matter where they are - until they're opened, that is...
