Price is way too high IMO, $3.50 a lb when I can go get some cow manure for $1.50 for a 5 or 10lb bag.

store bought manure is definantly not as robust as substrate as mushroom compost. You're comparing a bright shiny apple, to an old rotten orange.

Its straight. I always use a p.o box or my close buddy's addy. In this case my close buddy. Hes not gonna be happy but it should be cool. A buddy has a culture of the golden oyster. Another buddy wants some of the compost so im givin him some too. Both will tell me results.

I can vouch for High Mountain Compost, it is indeed VERY GOOD mushroom compost. You should get similiar results to our old Dung Brothers compost as the recipes are quite similar. Although dont be confused, this is not the same guy that took over the DB compost and ran the business into the ground. That guy is now in jail where he belongs.

In fact I have met the guy making High Mountain Compost, great guy and I highly doubt he will flake out.
$3.50 a lb for good mushroom compost, including shipping.. that is a cheap price considering how much work goes into making it, bagging and the costly shipping.

Glad to see we have another good compost supplier around :smile:

It looks real good. It comes in filter patch bags and is already pasteurized (Yaayy no bullshit!!). 10 lbs looks to be about 15 quarts. Cant wait to try it out. Plan on ordering some more soon.

How do you prepare the compost to get it ready to spawn. How do you use it? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I have never read a tek that used compost that was all ready pasteurized.

I searched all forums, cultivation the most and wondered around the faq and could not find anything that I could use on how to prepare compost. :confused: :crazy: Maybe im just dumb. A link would be helpful if you can find the information. I could not find what i needed. :frown:

All you do is get 35 bucks and buy 10 lbs. You get 1 (preferably 2) lbs of mycelium and put it in a big ass rubbermaid. Cut open compost bag and pour in. Mix, and you got a perfect casing. Its already pasteurized so theres no work for you. My depleted hawaiian strain (with no rhizos since the 4th time I made a transfer) now has nice rhizo growth. This compost is most definately good!

That shits great. A Foaf Mixed 2 quarts with 10lbs(about 15 quarts). Fully colonized in 15 days. He was working with mycelium that has been used 6 times(Broked up and spawned again after the flushes) and is over 7 months old. It was very cottony with almost no rhizo's. When mixed with compost it grew nothing but rhizo's.The shits quality and my foaf cant wait to see it fruit. Will update at various stages. Ill be ordering from you again soon H.M.C :grin:

I'm not surprised it's good. I grew up in Port Townsend and still visit constantly (I live on the other side of the sound now....)

Almost shat my pants when I saw that a shroomery sponsor was from my home town (it's pretty small)

I would like to pick up a bag of this the next time I visit

I'm also surprised HMC hasn't raised the prices on this compost yet, or at least charge shipping. Shipping that compost is EXPENSIVE !

Well everyone, from now on, I'm hoping my compost will sell itself.....the free "get to know us" shipping period is over - before I go bankrupt!!

I will be charging shipping according to zip code, that's the bad news...but, .the good news is that on the first 20 lb order ---shipping is free, one time only. I will do my best to keep the costs down on other orders.

Yea I was doing that 10 lb casing in a 38 liter sterilite container. It filled it up 6 inches. Id say 5lbs would be 2 shoebox sized casings

I just got my compost.

I did two little casings. I will make a grow log soon.  This is my first casing so I hope it works good.

The compost is the best, good quality stuff.

I hope to do one in a rubbermaid container also. like a 54 gallon container. :smile:

Used your compost for an outdoor project. Big ass hole, your colonized compost was thrown in and covered with wet straw. 10 days later I have some big ass pins. There about the size of my finger tip. Ill update when they mature and ill post the weight.

I dont have a digi cam so I have no pics. The straw was pasteurized but im sure regular soaked straw would work fine as moes tek says. It was the outdoor patches 1st flush and moe said it would be about 10 shrooms, I got 8. Big ass caps with small stems, I cant wait for the other flushes. Around 100 grams wet.

this would indicate to me that you keep records of all of your sales and the corresponding adresses. not the greatest idea if your product may possibly be used for illegal purposes. not for you or the buyer.

I have several friends that have ordered this compost for growing legal dung loving mushrooms and they all had excellent results.
You cant get better mushroom compost for the price.

Not for wood loving strains, but for any mushrooms that will grow on grain and dung. Yes and no for outdoor growing. It will indeed work outdoors, but there is also "the bug" factor. Such things as knats will be drawn to it immediatly. They can smell this stuff from miles away. BUT.. they dont eat much :smile: Of course you could always keep some of those sticky fly boards, found cheap at home & garden stores, nearbye the compost pile.

Read!!! THE SHIT IS PASTEURIZED!!! NO WATER JUST RIP OPEN AND USE!!! I just check for slugs at midnight and put a pelletized slug bait I found at wall mart and salt to keep them away. Fast shipping that had a tracking # ans compost ready to use. He has wood based compost for wood loving mushrooms(azure/cyan)
