Actually he's kinda right. in 2007, 92% of the world's non-pharmaceutical grade opiates came from Afghanistan.

it's much easier for afghans to grow poppies rather than wheat, because poppies are not water intensive plants

How is it a conspiracy theory?

I'm not talking about the conspiracy that the the American government is involved in the Heroin trade.

I'm talking about facts.
Pharma companies need raw opium to synthesize opiate painkillers. Being the world's largest consumer of such drugs, and Afghanistan being the biggest producer in the world of raw opium, there needs to be a connection between the companies and Afghanistan. Correct?

Well, I'm not crazy about the Obama administration, but he did say he was going to get us out of Afghanistan. What would you have him do? We can't afford to be the world's policeman anymore. It's be nice to send about a half million troops or so And maybe crush the Taliban animals. But we don't have a couple of trillion laying around at the moment.

Well, it wasn't that long a post, you know. :wink: But the situation there is complex, and I doubt me or anyone here could solve it. I don't think that area has ever known an extended period of peace in all the millennia it's been inhabited.
