Without going into particulars, I have learned this the hard way.  Over and over in my young adulthood, and in my twenties, I would always ruin reasonably good situations with stupid risk-taking, in perpetually vain attempts to make things a little better.  And I would be thrown on my ass, figuratively speaking.  I am also in a life situation now in which (once again, not going into particulars), this advice especially applies.  I have learned that if things are going pretty well, if you really try to pull out all the stops and make them even better, everything just falls apart and you're left with very little.  I would say that, in my life so far at least, this has been a very important realization for me.

I would like to add another:

Think for yourself.  Question authority.

I love this one especially - I thank my mum for telling me this time and time again as I was growing up. It caused my some shit over the years alright, but I wouldn't be where I am without that lesson.

1. If while in a heated talk you start yelling then you lost the conversation.

2. Family is the most important thing period, you will go through times where you will absolutely hate or despise them and sometimes wish the worst upon them. But in the end they will be the ones to help you when everyone else turns there back, they are your flesh and blood an you are there's. always help a family member in need

3. Enjoy the moment as it happens, if you keep wishing to be older/wiser you will miss out on the most important part of being human. which is simply Being in the moment.

There's a shelf life on what really matters to you - if you want to save the world from the evil empire or enlighten the world, but all you've done in the past decade is rant about it on a drug message forum, it probably doesn't really matter to you at all.

True that, i'd go further and say that the right questions are important but no answer can be right

That may not make sense to some people as why ask a question if there's no acceptable answer? because the right questions are like psychological crowbars that pry open the mind, so although the mind can't provide adequate answers to such questions they are still worthy of investigation

"Twas ever thus"    I don't know if it's the most valuable but it's up there at the top.  Most things in life that bug us cannot usually be seriously corrected. You'll have to live with it and you are not alone. It's been this way since the beginning of culture.
