Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy the festive celebrations that bring together friends and family for the shared joy of good food and unity.

But, the premise of this Holiday is pure trash.

Sounds about right

I'm really not a fan of thanksgiving. Both in regards to its meaning and the celebration. I don't know how you'd categorize the food served on thanksgiving, but I strongly dislike it. It's pretty much the more boring version of Christmas for me. At least on Christmas we all drink wine and celebrate. On thanksgiving everyone kinda just sits around.

Every year though I run a 5 mile race that morning, that way I just pass out at the house of whatever family member decides to have thanksgiving

A historian actually went through Columbus' journal and this is what he found

Human history is full of violence and corruption. Thanksgiving to me is a time to spend with loved ones and really appreciate all the things I have to be grateful for, not dwell on what our savage ancestors did. It was a different time period with different morals and values. Really doesn't bother me too much because similar events have taken place all throughout recorded history. Just got to accept it and try not to repeat the same mistakes.

Christopher Columbus was not a pilgrim. Huge dick but nothing to do with thanksgiving.

There was a priest who wrote a journal of there trip very interesting. Killed every native on the island for gold.demanded each family give x amount of gold , when  they couldn't find enough time to die. The Spaniards even rode the natives like horses until they dropped dead.  He considered them pretty useless even as slaves.

I like thanksgiving. I enjoy being with family and cooking for them. Also ny favorite football team plays every year.it is good to reflect on things we are thankful for. We should do it more often than we do. I think it's my favorite holiday. To bad Christmas materialism is taking it over.
