This is my all time favorite beer right here and i've been to the Stone brewery, this still takes the cake.
Victory Brewing Co.'s Dirt Wolf double IPA.



I'll be drinking a 4 pack tonight.:awesome:

Just poured a Karma by Avery Brewing.

Not real impressed with this one. Flavors are a bit all over the place, and the finish is kind of sour. To its credit I did forget to decant as many would recommend you do with a Belgian Pale Ale (really didn't feel like cleaning an extra glass honestly).

Overall it's an alright beer but doesn't really live up to the graphics. The design is what made me pick this one up of course. Despite its shortcomings I am finding this one rather drinkable, just nothing special.

Thirsty Dog makes some absolutely fantastic shit. The head brewer is the guy that used to be at Great Lakes, so their Christmas Ale is pretty similar but Thirsty Dog's is a bit better (I know, blasphemy to say here in Ohio). Check the Siberian Night, that shit is so fucking good.

There's some really great stuff in Ohio though. Columbus Brewing Company is awesome, Fat Heads has tons of great stuff, Jackie Os sells like crazy whenever we get it in, Seventh Sun has some good stuff, Mad Tree has a couple good IPAs.

I love the Dortmunder Gold from Great Lakes so I'm pretty confident I'll like the Labrador Lager I picked up by Thirsty Dog. Actually that may be my choice of drink tonight, we'll see. Great Lakes happen to be my favorite brewers, never have had a beer I didn't like from them, so I'm glad to hear it.

I did try the Schwarzbier from Thirsty Dog about a month or two ago. I think it's called the Rail Dog, has a steam engine on the cover. Schwarzbiers are certainly an acquired taste but I liked it - it's sort of like the Lapsang Souchong tea of beers, and I happen to be a fan of Lapsang Souchong. :grin:

A new brewery opened up in the town next to me about a month ago actually, they were wanting to open in my town originally, but they're ex-firemen and a fire station was for sale. Hence why they're calling themselves 'Old Firehouse Brewery'. Might have to pick something up from them some time.

Just finished a Labrador Lager by Thirsty Dog. Quite quickly I might add. Hard to put this one down, very good Dortmund-style lager.

the pretty label art is literally the only reason I started drinking craft beer in the first place.

I worked at a restaurant with a really great beer selection at 19 and it was run by people that didn't care that I was underage(and didn't care about carding our customers, and had a suspiciously good relationship with the police in the neighborhood too :strokebeard:), I was mesmerized by the pretty labels, was allowed to buy and try whatever I wanted and got an early start on obscure microbrews.
