I've been a patient in more than one psych ward in my life (both on 3-day holds and -- once -- a 14-day hold) due solely -- every single time -- to 'extremely severe depression' (which was both my own self-diagnosis as well as my doctor-given, professional diagnosis -- every single time).

Anyway -- I was just severely depressed every single time I was held in psych wards, not 'insane' [a.k.a. 'psychotic' / 'schizophrenic' / etc.] like the majority of patients at every psych ward I've been a patient of.

All of the 'genuinely insane / professionally-diagnosed insane' patients of the psych wards acted entirely unlike any sane person I've ever known, and -- a lot of the time -- they were both incredibly aggressive and confrontational and threatened patients (such as myself) -- and the staff -- with physical harm and never cooperated with the staff in any way whatsoever.

I could say a lot  more about the subject but -- instead -- I will try to keep it as brief as possible and say that -- the bottom-line -- is that I know first-hand the way many genuinely insane people think and the way many genuinely insane people act, and -- going back to the original reason for this post / reply -- I can say that: based on the way Asante writes (the style of his writing as well as the content and substance of his writing and the way his first post in this thread came out as well as the way Asante has been replying to others in this thread, etc.), Asante is -- in my opinion -- not insane whatsoever, and -- rather -- he just has different beliefs / facts / knowledge than those who say he is 'insane' as well as those who his posts rub the wrong way for whatever reasons.

In conclusion -- I've seen -- first-hand (as I have already stated) -- very many genuinely insane people / individuals in my existence -- and -- based on my experience with and around genuinely insane people and individuals, I can say that -- without  question -- Asante does not in any way, shape or form come off as 'insane' to me, and -- the bottom-line -- is that I do not believe that he is 'genuinely / legitimately insane' to any extent whatsoever and that -- rather -- he simply has religious beliefs that not everybody seems to share with him.

In my belief and opinion -- an individual who has a different religious belief / different religious beliefs than others should be able to openly share it with others and not be accused of being insane (unless they truly are genuinely insane and / or are violent and dangerous and / or actually identify as Satanists and / or Devil-worshippers and / or are trying to get innocent people / individuals to be scared into worshipping Satan / the Devil, as well).

Now -- really lastly, I promise! -- I will simply -- one last time -- acknowledge that, in my personal belief, it is not only my belief but it is a fact, as well, that Asante is not insane in any way and is -- rather -- quite sane.

From my experience, I have found that many individuals who are not religious seem to think that any individuals who are religious (and self-proclaim to be religious) are actually just insane and completely inaccurate when it comes to the things they say and to the information they share with others -- ESPECIALLY if the religious individuals share that they have talked to God (etc.) and / or still talk to God (etc.).

Anyway -- it truly is bothersome -- and tiresome -- to argue when it comes to religion and / or insanity, etc.

So -- for now, at least -- I'm with you on deciding to stop arguing Asante's case (not because I don't believe him, but -- rather -- because it is bothersome and tiresome to defend and argue Asante's case and -- also -- because I have already said a lot in the thread and feel that what I have already said is enough -- at least for now).
