Yes we are all human. She is also black and a lesbian though.

She and you have a problem with labels. What is so different about using "black" as a label rather than human? Saying black is more specific. That is what language is used for, to describe things specifically and accurately. So resorting to the most fundamental similarity between us all as the only appropriate label is counterproductive to the development of the English language IMO.

But really if you have a problem with the LABEL, "Black" what is so different about the LABEL, "human?"

It seems you are suggesting the problem as a solution to the problem.

Yeah.
I am sure "non-white" and "non-lesbian" would be much more acceptable terms for these overly sensitive folks.

Yes, but she shows it with compassion instead of hatred.

Ouch.  Way to judge and label Oprah.

Simply using a term, whether it is "lesbian" or "African American" does not mean that it is being used with hate.  Your mind is small, and you are the problem.

Compassion towards any one race in particular = hatred towards every other race. She is preferring once race over another, it doesn't matter if it is done kindly or with hatred, it is racism.

Looks like she's having a change of attitude. She went from colorless to black in just a few days.  http://www.mtv.com/news/1957694/raven-symone-african-american-black-oprah/

I've never actually watched the interview. She claimed she was colorless and not an african-american but still wanted to retain her "blackhood?"

After further consideration she realized she made an ass out of herself, she went from "I'm an American and that's a colorless person" to this a few days later "I never said I wasn't black".

I am not trolling at all.  It is true that using certain terms does not necessarily equate to hate.  You apparently have a problem understanding this.  Your mind is small, and you are the problem.

Labels and stereotypes are convenient when referring to populations of people.

But when you're addressing an individual, it's unnecessary and retroactive.
It keeps you from seeing the real person you're presented with.

Bullshit.  It is not unnecessary or retroactive in the instance I gave earlier if she were my missing roommate and the police wanted relevant info to help find her.  It would in fact be necessary and proactive.

This is becoming semantics.

No, it's just some being moronic.

Describing a missing room-mate being compared to groups being labeled would be funny if it wasn't such a stupid thing to say.

In order to do something "again", you'd have had to have done it previously.

What a non-surprise that you don't grasp such a simple concept.

Again notice how that wasn't relevant to the discussion at hand. Please just leave the personal jabs out of it, I don't take offense to them so you are just wasting your time.

You attempted to argue labels are stupid. You were explained to why labels aren't stupid. You got shut down too early, fled and are now trying to claim you never argued or were refuted in the first place.
