A'ight so I know I'm bumping a 2 year plus old thread...but 28064212's (too many numbers in your username by the way homie but I digress) thread that went post-less all this time, well, it's finally come full circle.

Because this Twin Peaks that he spoke of is finally airing. And it's getting absolutely KILLER reviews. 8.9 of 10 on IMDB and a 95% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

I never saw the original run -- but I do recall hearing people speak very fondly about it over the years. Are any of y'all watching this now? Does this re-visit require being familiar with the original run? I would think not since it's like a couple decades or whatever removed. Anyway, if any of y'all have seen this reboot, speak up!

I don't think seeing the the original is essential but it will make more sense and be ALOT more rewarding if you have. I loved the original series/film and this has surpassed my expectations, masterpiece.

I just noticed that chick has almost more forehead than she does a face. There is so much forehead, you could pan down to see her big old titties and still have a straight view of that giblet-head face.

The new Twin Peaks is good. It's a bit more fast paced and violent than the ABC series, with more Lynch weirdness. He came out swinging.  It's beneficial to be familiar with the original, if not watching then reading a synopsis or something. They refer back to characters and events  from time to time.

Rarbg is a good place to get it,  for anyone who doesn't have the Showtime subscription.

The new season of Twin Peaks is pretty cool.  It's very surreal/absurdist.  I think Lynch has finally eschewed any pretense that Twin Peaks is supposed to make sense, or even be coherent.  But it's really interesting to watch, just a bunch of cool scenes & shit happening.  I think it mostly lacks the charm of the first run, but we're living in a different time now so whatever. 

Anyone catch the scene with Michael Cera dressed as Brando in 'The Wild One'?  Lol, that was so fucking bizarre.  It's fun though; as "seriously" as it presents itself, I've always thought Twin Peaks is very funny. 

I need to wait until the return is done with their new eps and then I'll binge watch it to see if there's a cohesive story somewhere in there.  Until then, I'm just enjoying it scene by scene.

(The main show I'm paying the most attention to right now is American Gods.)

Only one episode left of the season.  :frown:  But man, awesome first season so far!  American Gods is one of those books that I've had about a hundred people tell me I would enjoy, and yet I never got around to reading it.  I have to go to the library this week; will try to cop it.

I love the characters, so many fascinating ones.  Except Dead Wife Laura; she's a pretty unsavory person.  But I like shows with a big cast of cool characters, and the story is great.  Good craft on the filmmaking too.  American Gods just has a lot going for it.

After reading these acclaims about American Gods, I decided to give it a shot. 2 episodes down and I'm going to watch episode 3 later tonight. Thanks for the heads up guys.

So I guess I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and go back and re-watch the original Twin Peaks run in order to watch this reboot. I think it's like two full seasons and I really don't have much time at all to fit in these series watching binges, so it might be a LONG fucking time before I can actually get to this new era.
