THere are too many points of data that have been analyzed, too many models created. To many observable situations.

Plus its too fucking easy to just say, its not true!!

Yes, and others have read and studied and came to different conclusions.

The models have been wrong. The data points "corrected".

Oh you have read tons of studies, huh?  And just exactly what science degree do you have that gives you the ability to understand them?  They are not critically interpretable unless you are versed in the jargon and statistical methods. Videos?  How wonderful.  Like the drowning polar bear one?

Here is the observable situation we have directly on hand.  There has been no global warming for 18 years.  That is irrefutable.

I'll jump in on the debate later, but you don't in fact need a degree to understand science. In fact all you need is about an hour or two on the internet to get the basics and background for any paper you might read (most of the time, excluding some more extreme stuff like certain areas of physics).

He said he read the studies.  That is not even close to the same thing as reading a magazine article about a study.  It would take me a whole semster just to relearn the statistics involved and they are loaded with statistics if you have ever actually seen a study and not a synopsis.

I am going to repeat myself:

I read studies every day, maybe climate studies are different, but physics (not the highest level stuff) and medical studies are easy to read and interpret.

There is and always will be global climate change.  When are you going to learn that?  It is the latter that is not even remotely established by real observations and testing.  Computer models are NOT science.  Getting a result running a simulation does not necessarily have any valid application to the real world and these particular models have been found to be completely without merit

They are loaded with statistics that have symbols I cannot print on my computer, do not remember and doubt he ever learned.  Everything is statistical in these studies since there are no experiments.

Here's NASA stats. Its fucking NASA, the send satellites everywhere and they all seem to work. Walked on the moon etc.

Here's what they have to say: http://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/

Here:s US Science

Quote:
U.S. Global Change Research Program[edit]
formerly the Climate Change Science Program

The U.S. Global Change Research Program reported in June 2009[18] that:

Observations show that warming of the climate is unequivocal. The global warming observed over the past 50 years is due primarily to human-induced emissions of heat-trapping gases. These emissions come mainly from the burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil, and gas), with important contributions from the clearing of forests, agricultural practices, and other activities.

The report, which is about the effects that climate change is having in the United States, also says:

Climate-related changes have already been observed globally and in the United States. These include increases in air and water temperatures, reduced frost days, increased frequency and intensity of heavy downpours, a rise in sea level, and reduced snow cover, glaciers, permafrost, and sea ice. A longer ice-free period on lakes and rivers, lengthening of the growing season, and increased water vapor in the atmosphere have also been observed. Over the past 30 years, temperatures have risen faster in winter than in any other season, with average winter temperatures in the Midwest and northern Great Plains increasing more than 7°F. Some of the changes have been faster than previous assessments had suggested.

Here's nasa again: http://climate.nasa.gov/scientific-consensus/

It can't possibly be any clearer...

Old report  Ends over 5 years ago  They use 50 years but ignore the last 18 even though CO2 has continued to rise the whole time.  Why do they even mention local temperatures?  They are irrelevant.

I already believe there have been changes. Repeatedly. From the day the planet formed.

The CO2 predictions have been completely wrong. The models have been wrong.

To answer your question... proof is what I would need. For that though we'd need a much greater understanding of the planet.

Not only an old report, but by a branch of the same government that wants to redistribute our wealth to make life "fair".

The planets been hotter. It's been colder.

When discussing Climate Change, I always refer to the following video. Brilliant.

"I’m tired of these self-righteous environmentalists, these white, bourgeois liberals who think the only thing wrong with this country is that there aren’t enough bicycle paths. People trying to make the world safe for Volvos. Besides, environmentalists don’t give a shit about the planet. Not in the abstract they don’t. You know what they’re interested in? A clean place to live. Their own habitat. They’re worried that some day in the future they might be personally inconvenienced. Narrow, unenlightened self-interest doesn’t impress me."

"The planet has been through a lot worse than us. Been through earthquakes, volcanoes, plate tectonics, continental drift, solar flares, sun spots, magnetic storms, the magnetic reversal of the poles … hundreds of thousands of years of bombardment by comets and asteroids and meteors, worldwide floods, tidal waves, worldwide fires, erosion, cosmic rays, recurring ice ages … And we think some plastic bags and some aluminum cans are going to make a difference? The planet isn’t going anywhere. WE are!"

where does NASA get it's funding?

“unfortunately, this is an issue which has become far more political than technical, and it would have been well for me to have stayed out of it.”

http://www.nbcnews.com/id/18964176/ns/us_news-environment/t/nasa-head-unsure-global-warming-problem/#.VCdDDye9vZU
““I have no doubt that global — that a trend of global warming exists,” NASA Administrator Michael Griffin said in a taped interview that aired Thursday on National Public Radio. “I am not sure that it is fair to say that is a problem we must wrestle with.”

NASA also shows plent of data that says that this is an ongoing, natural
occurrence, not something caused by man which is the heart of this issue

You guys are just letting you political ideologies interfere with your train of thought.

You guys link climate change to liberal socialist hippies. Since you're not one of them then you automatically think that anything they believe is inherently wrong.

It is possible to be fiscally conservative and still understand that human are doing irreparaible damage to the environment and do something about it.

Don't worry, I won't think you guys are any less of a hard ass if you feel a tiny bit of pity

no, we link bilking socialist hippies out of their cash and trying to force
others to pay under the guise of anthropogenic climate change to the liberal

It's something that I'll never buy into, has nothing to do with it being a Liberal view. If some Conservative started preaching about it, it wouldn't change a thing for me.

Then again. I just might go back on the 50/50 side of things...

Who knows.
